How you feeling about your team Ivan? Think you'll have what it takes to make a go of it next season?

Given of course that Shankland stays.

Would he make the difference between a good or bad season?

then it's likely that this injury will finish off any suggestion that we might move on Shankland in this window.
=====

its going to be so sweet if they do it on the last day again

hope its celtic, just for this.

Tbh although I would rather you didn't sign him.
I would love another Ivan meltdown on deadline day

There must be something massively dispiriting for the chasing pack

Stopped reading after this part. Chasing pack lol

Don't really even want him but we should sign Shankland in the summer just to pash off Dundee United. No chance they could get a replacement in of the same standard.

Also don't think Shankland would score that many for United in the Premiership. He needs to move to a bigger club where he will get more chances or his reputation will suffer next season.

I think we'll still need to add one or two with more quality and after listening to a podcast with Tony Ashgar I think the club know that too. Keeping Shankland would obviously be massive but I think we all accept that it will be difficult in the summer to hold onto him.

What's the most pleasing thing about the club as a whole at the moment is that folk seem to be pulling in the same direction, which hasn't happened for a long time. The fans and the team have a bond again and I think there's a trust that the board are doing things properly and in the best interests of the club.

Showed up well. It'll be interesting to see how we use him when Butcher is fit. I think he could be pushed further forward in the midfield.

If we sell him there won't be a meltdown.

I will however be disappointed at the timing, but if the money is there then it's hard to say no.

I have confidence the club won't sell unless we're talking a lot of money.

Hopefully a stronger Utd come back to the top league cos Scottish football needs some competition.

Do you think Shankland has what it takes to make it at the likes of the OF?

Nicky Clark was banging in hat tricks for QoS but he couldn't cut it at Rangers.

I think he could cut it at the Old Firm. I think people might make comparisons with Boyd given that they are both natural goalscorers, but for me Shankland is the type who will keep looking to improve, whereas Boyd was the type who stopped once he got to Rangers. I think Shankland has benefited from his failure at Aberdeen if that makes sense. I think it's helped him get mentally tough and he's focused himself on how he needs to improve to make it.

Clark is an intelligent player. I like him. I'm not so sure he'll be a success in the Premiership but I think he deserves the opportunity to try.

It was all about the timing mate. We basically torpedoed our own hopes of winning a trophy by selling our two best players to the team we were facing in the semi-final. It was madness, especially since we were constantly being told that it wouldn't happen no matter what.

Ultimately at this point Celtic (and Rangers) aren't our rivals so selling to them wouldn't be as painful as it was then.

If you ask United fans where it all started to go wrong for us in the last few years, most United fans will point to that moment. I'm not sure that's entirely fair if I'm honest, but it did seem like a real turning point in our fortunes and it felt important at the time.

selling all your best players and giving Jackie a cut of it, while not replacing them was probably a bad move tbf.

been out the top tier too long now tbh, its a juicy fixture so be good to see you back up

I think Boyd couldn't go any further than when he signed for Rangers. He was a tremendous goal scorer though.

I think Shankland's Scotland caps will have also done him the world of good confidence and experience wise.

I think Kris Boyd is one of the biggest wastes of talent we've ever had in Scottish football. With his ability in front of goal he could have went on to bigger and better things than Rangers if he had the right attitude. But he got to Rangers, decided he'd made it, and opened a sharebag of monster munch rather than putting his head down and working hard to be the best he could be.

Was thinking that, every time i watch them he seems to be at the heart of their good performance when they muster one up.

Better player than i gave him credit for.

I think that's a bit harsh. He scored plenty of goals, though he was never going to be the fittest player. That's where he let himself down most.

There are loads more players that could have been better than Boyd but f@cked it cos they thought they had made it.

Scotland's got a shocking history of good players that could've been great.

armstrongs movement is something else, always has the other team working.

we lost him and Roberts and kept the guys that passed the ball sideways and back and then just stood in the same place.

honestly the most boring football I've seen as a celtic fan.

Stuart Armstrong is a wonderful player. He's a very graceful player and he makes the kind of runs between the lines that you rarely see these days.

Maybe a wee bit harsh but I genuinely think he could have been a fantastic striker if he had looked after himself and had the right attitude. Ultimately he'll always be a good goalscorer that wasn't good enough in the biggest games, and that's his footballing legacy.

I think Kris Boyd is a stupid fat b@stard.

a good poacher against lesser sides but that's about it.

nae good against celtic, nae good in Europe.
