a lot said it not being fifa or championship manager.. I wish it was sometimes because we wouldn't have to worry about not having any money, you could make 2 or 3 top signings per season.
Bowen would be perfect for us.. and a team pushing for promotion should be able to cherry pick players from the 'lesser' sides
^ Spot on regarding cherry picking championship players from lesser teams. Problem is, we cannot and will not compete with premier league sides who want him. Add to that, we won't sign him as it'll upset the apple cart and we cant and wont sign players to get in the starting 11
They won't be loaning him, so we won't be getting him and his next club will be a prem one.

You’d need some kind of deal with him, where you put a Release clause in if we don’t go up.
But I think Jonny has this about right!
They have a clause to extend his deal by a year which they will obviously do. So it's not 5 months but 17 months left on his deal.
He'll leave in the summer no doubt but won't be going that cheaply. Club just cannot afford to spend that sort of money.

Llana from Liverpool. Another player out of contract in the summer that Liverpool don’t want to keep. £5m would do it or a loan fee with obligation to buy. Gotta be worth it

Wonder how happy people would be if we spent £15million+ on Jared Bowen and then got slapped with FFP fines/points deductions. Ambitious is getting Che Adams. Ambitious was getting Helder Costa. Signing Jared Bowen is just unrealistic.
Adam Lallana is on how much? 100k a week? He's not going to take a massive wage deduction to play in the Championship rather than sit on his wages, get a title medal and move to his pick of midtable PL clubs in the summer.

Bowen is coming to end of contract it’s worth contacting, look how cheaply Roofe and Jansson went for.

I agree in that I don't think we are with the 3 player sales last summer. However an expensive deal for Bowen could push us past that limit. Bowen's contract is up in 5 months true but Hull have an automatic year extension that they will obviously use. So effectively he has a 17 month deal. He won't be leaving cheaply.

Because Bowen will have plenty of PL suitors in the summer so from his point of view why move now? Because Leeds don't have the £15-20million to spend on one player in January.
Lallana will not move to Leeds because he plays for Liverpool and is on 100k a week and half the teams in the PL will want him in the summer.
