Selling Roofe was a huge mistake and couldn’t be replaced for the money we got for him, which is saying something.
Bowen not even 5th best player in the league, not fit to lace pablo’s boots (when he’s fit)

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Theres a story here, have you and Bowen got some previous?
He’s scored a lot of goals, but there are just better players. He’ll go for a lot because of the amount he scores though, regardless
To be fair I have my doubts about him, mainly because he’s never played well when I watch him.
But if he has good as everyone says, a player like him shouldn’t be out of reach for us.
If we’re ambitious
Yeah, I’m yet to see the hype with my own eyes, but his goals in our team would probably get us over the line.
& Hull aren’t getting promoted, so you would think if we were ambitious enough, the deal could easily happen. We don’t have the £££
Kevin Phillips said back in December that Leeds need to get Bowen as he'll be the difference between going up and not. Costa is worth about 5 atm.
Bowen
Rinomhota
Adams
What time are we on Match of the day
I read again that we sent a new offer to Southampton
for Adams. Their manager doesn't want him to leave. Despite that, their board is mulling things over.
We've supposedly got other striker options in case.
Have to say, not confident any of this.
MOTD? - reading this thread it sounds like some will have a nose bleed and the shakes when they are weaned off Quest / Wish.
Shaun you will be accused of over ambition!
Adams deal is dead. Will be surprised if we get anyone as good as him.
Bowen is a quality footballer. Gets double teamed, still scores a stack and gets a load of assists. He may not have shone against us but we were swarming him and he still got free a few times. Really good close control. Would love him here.

We should have kept an unhappy player whose head had been turned by his agent?

If and it’s a big if
We sold Roofe for £5m and then paid £3m for Eddie on loan, there is something seriously wrong with this club.
Problem now is apart from phillips who is worth anything
Keeper nil
Ayling £2m max
Douglas £1m max
Cooper £3m max
Klich £3m max
Foreshaw nil
Dallas nil
Aloski £1m
Roberts £2m ( could be worth a lot but a cripple)
Pablo zero
Bamford £3m
Apart from Shackleton who’s a cripple so worth nothing, there nothing coming through worth anything at then moment, it’s dried up.
----------------------------
wind yer neck in LIW - it was only a week ago on the match thread vs Arsenal you were practically bumming them all... "all prem teams will want our players"
players go through form periods, its not champ manager pal
Spit ……. some of those values maybe correct, not all i'd imagine, but probably a couple. But it wasn't that long ago that some were saying Phillips shouldn't be anywhere near a promotion winning side, yet look how his performances and value have rocketed. Things change, players improve. Most have proven that they can play to a high level, we are still 2nd afterall - god forbid we were 6th or lower, for me last season it was maintaining the levels they struggled with.
Shackleton a cripple? Really? Injured and coming back, but a cripple - crass comment at best.
VOFy agreed...
ref your point being 2nd in the league, I must admit I've been really surprised at the negativity recently.
I get it, I think, but yeah, imagine if we were 10th
I think it's the concern that the season might replicate last, I totally get that, it worries me a bit too.
The atmosphere on Saturday was subdued I thought, like fans were feeling anxious. did that feed on to the players - i'm not convinced, but it may do.
My primary gripe with the club is the time it's taking to get additional bodies into the team for the remainder of the season. Without them I can see us tapering away again.
to be fair VOF, I can't help but worry either...
but I doubt the reaction would of been the same if we had of beat Wednesday... just seemed to me like an overreaction.. lose a game, back on O dogs case.
We are where we were at the same point last year - never lower than 3rd? But we fell short.
Don't think its negativity so much as experiencing deja vu.
I believe that most on here are ensvisaging the same conclusion unless we at a minimum get a finisher or preferably a couple of key problem area players.
I’ll make it easier for you all, the budget is £2.5/3m to include wages, fee and agent, so get your thinking caps on and come up with a player, Sharp has been knocked back by MB, remember the players has to be prepared to sit on the bench and must be exactly what MB wants, see what we can come up with
Looking like the best we can hope for is this teenage Winger from City, young Italian keeper and possibly Luke Freeman from the Blades.

I have no reason to doubt what you say, Don. You've
made posts on a regular basis that have proved to be
exactly as you had said. So, based on that, I'd say
we're fooked when it comes to this January window.
Now it comes down to how good is MB? How much
did he learn from last season's melt down? How fit
can we stay right to the end? And can the likes of Forshaw,
Tyler etc. defy their glass bodies and actually help?
Side note: is the amount of money available not about
FFP. But, more about this rumoured QSI takeover?
Has AR been told to stay within a number budget-wise
this season by them? And then if we don't go up,
sale goes through? Speculating here. Just seems so
damn odd that a club of our size/revenue tip toes it's
way through crucial periods of this and last season.
While other clubs barge through. Strange.
Batty - your penultimate sentence about oddness is my thoughts exactly - just can't square it at all.
