I won’t judge him against his peers, because his peers are also freely-speculating clickbait merchants.

I will judge him against the truth, and I will judge him against the best standards in journalism - because that’s how I understand he wants to be considered, as a journalist - and I will decide that against both measures, he isn’t worth listening to.

All of his peers are click bait merchants? Such a massive generalisation can only be considered boll0cks!

He's not taking about all journos. You obviously missed the bit where he mentioned the best standards of journalism. Di Marzio and his peers do not operate at that level.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Another generalisation and without evidence, your hypocrisy is amazing. It’s pure speculation, like claiming Young is purposefully not playing because he wants to go to Inter 🤔

How many peers of his can you count? Allll of them don’t have good standards?

JA606 is one of the weirdest bubbles when it come to football forums, the consensus just doesn’t apply here at all.

Erm. You didn't understand my post.

Football ‘journalists’ in general, yes.

There have been numerous studies done on the veracity of transfer reports across the print and online press.

The best sources consistently appear to be the broadsheet papers, which still have a success rate of around a third. Tabloid and online sources do well to hit the mark one fifth of the time.

Can you imagine if the same standards applied to journalists in current affairs, politics, finance, etc?

The whole sub-industry is a complete and utter sham and exists only to sell newspapers and generate clicks. It is a commercial endeavour only.

Well nobody, clearly, because one is journalism and the other is advertising strategy.
