Kante has been crippled by injuries since towards the end of last season.
There is a noticeable improvement from Fabinho, this season. However I would never consider swapping a fully fit Kante for Fabinho. But that’s just my opinion.

What im trying to say is what hes doing now hes nowhere near as effective and will never be as effective as the kante doing what hes best at with Lesta and the first few years withChelsea.

I think the most egregious claim in this thread is fash saying fabinho has more to his game than kante, despite losing out in every category to measure this.
Fabinho is a good dm in a great side.

Covering ground breaking up play and passing it to the more creative in a slightly deeper role? There was no one better, the fact hes now in a new role where theres plenty better in that position. How long? He first few years 2? This is his 4th season for chelsea.
He still does exactly what you say.
At leicester DW sat deeper.
At chelsea matic sat deeper.
Now Jorgino sits deeper.

yeah tbf obviously I watch every chelsea game. But only probably catch liverpool 20-25 times.
top 6 games are 10 games a year, champions league and some cup and league games. Maybe 30 a year.

Playing different positions does not mean more to your game. Fernandinho has played cb, but doesn't make me think "ah now hes a better defender or tackler".
Kante just has more to his all round game.
Drogba had more to his game then most strikers, but could only play striker. Anelka played across a front three for us.

CB, DM, CM but his skill doesn't change as a player does it. Hes tall, can probably win a lot in the air and pass it around. It doesnt mean that when he goes into "CM" he sudddenly bangs in 15 a year.
We'll not agree on this. If you have mutiple facets to your game you can play multiple positions and therefore you have more to your game (of football). In fact it seems obvious to me.

Well kante can play dm, cm, am probably could do rb too.
Regardless I'd say Bernardo silva has more to his game than ashley young.
Kante is quicker, more agile, better passes statistically, more key passes, more tackles, more interceptions, more goals, more to his game.
Fabinho, like fernandino is good at his role. Basically a good mikel.
