I just say fair play to palace personally. They played their game, thwarted us, took their chances, and scuppered us at the end when we thought we had turned it around.

A classic case of what football can throw up, and a reason why we all love the game.

All this rubbish - one-up-man-ship - on one hand I get it, banter and all that, but on the other it’s just infantile. I don’t mind giving credit where it’s due, but then you get ignorant fools like process who forget the history of the club they support when trying to get one over an opposition fan. And that’s just pathetic and incredibly sad.

When all those villa fans were leaving at 3-0 last weekend, I couldn’t help but think - those people don’t love the game of football, they just love the club they support. Not really interested in watching football, only really interested in watching it when their team win.

And that’s sad to me. The sport comes first, the loyalty to a single club comes as a result of loving the sport itself.

That’s why I have no bones about congratulating Liverpool for what they are doing, even at the expense of the team I support.

Love the sport. Appreciate the achievements, enjoy the successes, lament at the failures. Last on that list, have a bit of fun digging at your rivals.

For so many in here, they seem to take most enjoyment out of digging at rivals. Be all and end all to them.

Which is pretty sad all said and done

Good points but you'd be well advised to take your own advice as well.

Now that City aren't top dogs you want to become a philosopher and pacifist whereas previously you loved to roll in the mud and take on other fans, you are known to get quite nasty sometimes. Hopefully, you take this advice for yourself going forward as well and in the years to come, don't let it be a seasonal thing.

It is truly amazing how obsessed the rags and dippers are with City.

I guess it shows just how jealous they are of our success.

I’ve never seen Ripley argue from a position of posturing or lack of humility though. He’s got every right to still challenge ignorance, opinions don’t get any more or less validity based on how someone’s team is doing.
