We’re facked whatever happens, to be honest. We haven’t got the skill, energy or physicality to compete with Liverpool in the middle of the park. So it’s just about hoping we can contain them and be clinical. I’d take a shiiiiithouse 0-0 all day

Regardless of what we think of Ole’s capabilities, I don’t think we can expect too much tactical ingenuity with the options we have in the squad. Basic biiiitch tactics and effort are all we can hope for. That’s the gap between the teams right now. But tbh even when we’ve been much better than Liverpool we’ve often played pretty crappy at Anfield (and come away with results). It’s one of those games where I think most don’t give a shiiiiit how we perform as long as we get a result. This has been true for decades.

But we don’t have to compete with Liverpool in the middle if we’re realistic and see where our strengths are. Soak pressure then hit them on the counter, ideally from deep to bypass the midfield but we don’t have anyone creative there so the next best thing is probably Mata. I guess Matic now and then likes long balls from deep for the attackers to run on to.

I’m not really expecting much from tomorrow though.

I was watching the highlight(s) from that win we had against Liverpool in 2008 I believe when O’Shea scored the winner late on at the Kop

With VAR that moment would have been ruined as the emotion would have been sucked out of it. We were so bad that game 😂

Well we actually do. I don’t rate Liverpool’s midfield on a technical level but the reason they are so good is because they completely suffocate teams in the middle of the pitch, and they do control the midfield and drag teams all over the place a lot more than people give them credit for.

Matic lacks the legs he had but I think this season has shown up just how poor the rest of our midfielders are positionally. Having him cutting out passing lanes while Fred and Pereira run around like headless chickens will likely be more effective than having those two do that and leave spaces in front of the defence while Mata gets shut down futher up.

Rob, we are always shiiiiit at Anfield. I hate it, but I accept it, as it’s a game we really don’t want to lose. I said the same at Old Trafford the last two games despite people crowing over the performance. It was shiiiiit, but I don’t care because we didn’t lose.

Liverpool’s midfield might not be overly technical but I’d say it’s still both technically and physically better than ours though, Fred and Pereira running around like headless chickens isn’t going to do much.

I think both Wijnaldum and Henderson are massively underrated in what they bring to the Liverpool side.

id almost be tempted to go 5 at the back with Matic in the centre of defense just following Firmino around

Maguire and Lindelof stuck to Salah and Mane with Williams and AWB solely focussed on where the majority of Liverpools assist come from, their full backs.

their midfield isn't exactly overflowing with creativity so just man for man them with pereira and fred on Henderson and Wijnaldum with (don't shoot me) Lingard sitting on Fabinho

Keep Tony and James out wide to stretch VVD and Gomez

I think historically United are the team to have won the most at Anfield out of any PL side. Which is pretty hilarious given you can probably count on one hand the amount of times we performed well there.

The biggest shiiithouse win in recent memory was in LVG’s final season when Rooney scored our only chance of the match.

Sadly I think you are right.

1982, possibly but I think having a player with some positional discipline, when we park the bus, and having those two try and disrupt some of their rhythm may prove more fruitful. Especially as Liverpool will come flying out of the blocks. I see no need to start with a number ten in this game. Which is why Lingard will start.

Think their full backs will raaaape us tomorrow. As much potential as Williams has he’ll be up against both Salah and Trent. Plus I feel the one-twos between Firmino and the full backs as well as Salah and Mane will bamboozle our defence

I genuinely feel Firmino is the most underrated player in that side.

The weakness in our squad highlights why we need reinforcements now and this stalling over Fernandes is a joke Beyond belief. Having to watch Perriera and Lingard play for us makes my eyes sore. Just want Ed to leave this club! I just want him out!

Shut up you whining pansy, this has nothing to do with Ed.

Henderson is the most underrated player in their side. Firmino is the most overrated player in the team. Everyone bangs on about how great and underrated he is when it’s not true.

Hipster opinion. Salah and Mane are clearly more important. He’s a quality player that compliments the whole team, but it’s shiiiiit like what you’ve just said that makes him overrated.

I actually take the hipster comment as a compliment coming from the original hipster 😂😂

Henderson’s massively underrated, I think because he got so much stick during his early days at Liverpool many fans find it hard to now accept that he’s massively improved and is very important for Liverpool and Klopp.

I don’t even understand that accusation. My opinions tend to go along with the mainstream far more than yours. For example, I thought Fellaini, Moyes, Lukaku and Matic were shiiiiit and you didn’t.

You and Mex we’re so hipster that I’m sure you two invented some Italian teams to call the next big thing while you drank espresso in some one time hat factory in Hoxton.

I don't think he's underrated at the minute. He's still the weakest link in their admittedly exceptional team imo. And he's had nothing but deserved praise this season. I don't really think any of their players are underrated. They all get a lot of credit, deservedly so.

Watching Serie A and not being a prem fanboy isn’t hipster you diiiiiickhead. Being hipster is saying Bayern Munich are overrated, a couple of months before they destroy Barca and go on to win the treble.
