No one will pay his 80k wages, a deal will have to be done. Roofe took a season to find his feet, we need an established player who can hit the ground running at this level right now.
Adams and Gray have scored about 3 goals between them all season, that's hardly running either. Both are good and would be excellent for next season.
I don't care how many they scored in the prem this season, we ain't buying someone's top scorer and can do it at this level with ease.
We need a striker for now, for the remainder of this season. Need someone who can convert the chances we create. Gray would be okay by me, when I've seen him previously always seemed pretty decent.
I honestly think we just need to get over the line, we won't get a better chance than this season. I'm not sure where we'll be as a club financially if we don't - especially with commitments like Costa to fund.

I don’t want to break the bank but if all this windows budget needs to be spent to secure that striker than so be it. No obligations to buy, just get the player in for now.

He’s got 23 league goals in last 3 and half years.

I take your point totally.
But we're not going to be loaned anyone who plays regularly, and who scores, in the Prem league. We're in the market for a player who we hope can do the business in the Champ. Whoever we bring in, if we do, will be something of a gamble.
Am not saying don’t sign him.
But people shouldn’t expect a goal machine, because he isn’t.
We need a number 10/ winger too
Having that extra front player will give competition for PB, but also (and I think more importantly), give the coach the ability to pull PB out of the limelight.
Can't think of too many clubs where if the primary striker isn't scoring, or is looking short on confidence, that they don't give the back up option a run of games. We had Roofe (when fit) to call on last season, in theory Nketiah this.
It's farcical we only have PB as a striker in a club of our size and supposed stature.

Got to be honest and say not seen much of him so my opinion is baseless. BUT does he have a knack of missing fairly easy chances infront of goal? Whoever comes in and plays upfront will get chances. This is not complicated - we just need someone who knows where the goal is and preferably hit the ball on target and with abit of pace and power.

We don’t need anyone with a sensational cv - just someone who gona do basics right for us. Billy Sharp fo me - under this team he’ll get chances that are bread and butter for him
Murray could fit into it a lot better than the 0 strikers in our bench at the moment....
Sharp is a poacher, his experience would be good, but not for me as he's not athletic enough, need someone who can play and bully defenders, with pace.

Would love that, but with 11 days to go and limited funds, we might not get to get exactly want we want.
Forest do pretty well with Grabban who isn't blessed with loads of pace.
Also watching Forest yesterday that Lolley was outstanding quick and skillfull with a cracking shot on him which he uses and gets on target and scored 2 yesterday.
Forest got Lolley from Huddersfield for next to nothing and he looks miles better than Harrison and Costa.
Sharp, Freeman, Murray would all do a good job short term. Bowen, Adams and Gray obviously would be great too but you get the impression the club doesn't want to spend a lot and seem to be fixated on bartering
like a granny at a car boot sale.

This ain’t championship football.
Gray or Adams for me, got to be able to link play up
