Makes you wonder how any economy outside of the EU manages to survive. Apparently if we leave it will be to a world of doom and destruction and poverty.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Especially when you consider that less than 10% of our companies actually trade with the EU.
Apparently, the other 90% could be sucked into a black hole of doom post Brexit.
This despite the news this week about 100s of EU financial institutions opening offices in the UK as well as another month of record unemployment.
Remainers can't wait to see the UK fail just because they lost.
Sad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fek, I missed this nugget.
Does Bob the green grocer trade with the EU? Nope, of course not.
But where are his oranges produced? And how can he sell bananas (out of season produce) all year round?
Spain during season and Africa/South America off season, thanks to preferential market access agreements (EU generalised system of preferences) we have with the EU.
The 10% figure is yet another example of twisting information.
Sorry, you've been misled. Again.

It's amazing these people who believe headlines they read rather than fact check their information were allowed to vote based on the lies they believed and the rest of us have to sink with them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Amazing the smug arrogance of remainers who believe they have the intellectual & moral high ground and everyone else (the large majority of the voting public) are idiots who believe everything they read, are racist and xenophobes and don't share a brain cell between them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hardly smug. We didn't get what we want. Amazed is the correct term. Amazed that people throw around 'facts' like above based on headlines they've read rather than checking them and vote based on it.
If you want to call these people idiots, that's on you. I don't blame them, I blame the government for lying to them.
The racist and xenophobic thing is separate entirely but yes many people voted to leave based on their belief there would be less foreigners. Some even believed the ones here currently would be sent home. Not to mention the fear when there were leaflets posted through peoples doors telling them Turkey was joining the EU when in actual fact they are miles away from being eligible.

Further to this, how do people think the goods are going to get to the UK when supposedly striking up these great deals with countries outside of the EU? Direct via air? If only they knew the cost of that. Goods in the main, are grouped with other goods and transported through Europe. You have to pay for transferring through countries. If you're not paying directly, then the shipper is paying, which means the cost of the goods is higher to cover that.

You were not blaming the govt for lying to them, you are disbelieving that people believe the headlines. You;re implying stupidity if not explicitly stating it.
But you are largely right. People believed what they wanted to believe and they were fed lies. Big failure is of the remain campaign and then the opposition's total frustration of the process which only served to entrench brexiteers further and then annoy enough remainers to the point of them simply wanting it all to end. A total lack of credible alternative put forward by the opposition, typified by JC stating he'd be 'neutral' in brexit re-negotiations (how can anyone be neutral in a negotiation? surely you want one or the other outcome, usually quite passionately, not just happy either way!!!) meant that the opportunity to reverse or moderate brexit was blown for a second time.
Basically we've all been let down by politicians on both sides. IMO the decision was too big for the public any way. People blame Cameron but actually Brexit won, so perhaps he read the mood of the masses more.

Exactly.
Unfortunately, I suspect that most people who vote will not really pay much attention to politics for few years and then get into it when an election comes up. Dare I say it but most people will just vote for the party based on the newspaper they read. Daily mirror readers will always vote labour. Guardian readers will vote labour or lib dems. Daily mail and times will vote tory. Express readers will vote tory/further right wing parties. I've always believed that the outcome of our elections are determined by the sun readers. Think they've back the government forming party in overtly election since 1974 (I think).

He probably doesn’t understand the social engineering that’s going on making it harder and harder for the working classes like himself to live there, but hey, it’s the greatest city in the world apparently
