None of them play in a midfield 3 though, they all play in the front 3.

Not that I think hes good enough but can Polster not play there to?

Aye we most certainly are.

Especially now Aribo appears to be considered a forward player.

4 players for 3 positions is too little, especially when one of those 4 is a pensioner.

Aye so he can, well i would rather him than Halliday but far from ideal.

I would prefer we stop Docherty leaving unless we have someone lined up rather than use either of them though.

I imagine your injury record is allowing Gerrard to believe that's enough.

He's likely faced some pressure to ship a few out and i'd hazard a guess Docherty, Murphy, Grezda and Barjonas would make up the best part of £25-£30K a week?

Halliday will be the last resort for you.

Not having a 6th choice cm option doesn’t worry. We have guys that could play there if need be.

Could also change the shape, half the teams we play we could get away with playing an extra attacker or Kent/Stewart central.

There is Ojo in the mix as well for the front three.

And whilst Aribo can play in the midfield he has essentially moved forward one in that role on the right hand side of the front three.

We have a couple of options but I agree we are tight for numbers in there. King has gone as well.

SG said he essentially wanted two players for every position and whilst guys like Docherty and King didn't actually feature much for the first team I do think they added strength to the squad, would have upped the general levels in training etc.

If it were up to me I would bring in one maybe two players right now.
- an experienced creative option in centre mid that can chip in with a few goals
- possibly even start integrating the long term replacement for Morelos into the squad now.

Its fairly inevitable Morelos will get another suspension this season. Relying on a 38 year old and Greg Stewart to secure a title is risky IMO.

It certainly does seem like he's been told to cut the cloth accordingly with our finances after being allowed to push the boat out in the summer.

Financially sensible but it's risky. If we have to play Halliday or Polster in our midfield 3 we are asking for trouble. Especially Halliday, i'm pashed off he's still even at the club as some glorified cheerleader

Greg Stewart, has he ever played midfield?

Greg Stewart could never play midfield, he has the pace of a sloth.

Could recall Kelly I suppose, but thats a gamble as well.

Can see us possibly going for someone from Liverpool. That Chirivella or someone on loan.

Maybe after seeing the nick of Sellick in the last two OF games we have just decided that they are utter pash and we only need a squad of 14 players plus a few kids to bring it home?

Would be surprised if any teams would want to loan us anyone after King didn’t get a game. If him or Docherty can’t get a game then fat chance of a teams youth player needing games would get any.

The more i think about it, the more i think Polster will be the cover.

Patterson is a better shout covering for Tav as their games are similar which frees Polster up to cover in midfield if we are going for 2 players for each position.

Edmundson will be cover for Jack.
Not ideal.

GK McGregor / Fod
LB Barasic / Flanno
CB Goldson / Edmundson
CB Katic / Helander
RB Tavernier / Patterson
CM Davis / Arfield
CM Kamara / Polster
CM Jack / Aribo
LW Kent / Jones
RW Aribo / Stewart / Ojo
FW Morelos / Defoe

Cheerleader Halliday / Barker

That will do, though a midfielder on loan would be nice.

We cant rely on Polster in there.

Whilst he would probably be OK against a lot of teams we will need to ensure we have real quality options in there after the split when we have to go to Pittodrie, Ester Road, Parkhead etc again.

Polster hasn't played at that level.

Lets ne honest, the best thing about Polster is his burd.

By some distance.
