Would say Laporte is narrowly ahead of Van Dijk, Neither as good as Pique though.

the man city manager praises the man city player.

I'd never have thought it.

I don't think there has ever been a team that has done to Pep what we have.

This best player thing is nonsense. None of City players if not one (Debruyne who didnt even feature last season) made the Top 10 of European team of the year yet City won 3 trophies and are almost certainly the Top 3 best side in Europe.

World class players matter but ultimately its down to the coach and how the team operates.

Secondly, are there still fans that really believe that managers scout and sign playersHonestly we have children on this site to think that a manager actually scouts and goes to watch playersThis is not 1995, football clubs dont operate that way anymore.

A manager tells his superiors the positions in which he requires new players and the people appointed to do that come up with a shortlist and the manager is requested to input and then after that the club sign the player.

Managers DONT BUY players, they make recommendations. PEP did not sign Debruyne and Klopp did not sign Salah, they just provide input.

Their remit is to coach and manage the football team. These are not the Wenger, Fergie years.

City did try to sign a center back (Maguire) They could not afford him

largely true.

the top european clubs appoint coaches who know full well that they don't get a final say in anything but are run by people with some clue.

in england you still get issues with managers who think they should have the final say. and you have non football people picking players whod never work on the basis of little voices in their ears.

top clubs have top structures. man utd don't. I actually think arsenal have tried to put a good structure in but I'm amazed no cb has yet turned up.

Not so much a team, but he was a lot worse when Jose was at Real

Barca and Pep could always pull the moral card when it came to Jose, that's how much of a he was.

Pep against us is so out of character and talking all kinds of shiiiit.

I been saying this for a while. While he has been out injured some have reinvented him to be like the reincarnation of maldini. Yes he is a good defender but kompany was the man who dragged them through last year.
