He’s a good player and he would clearly help our chances for top 4 but is this signing and potentially CL football something that will help us long term?
We’ll be left with an ageing player on huge wages who will be very hard to move on. He’s also South American!!!
Utd should defo get cavani. Will it secure top 4? Good chance... depends what chelsea do if u sign him.
I personally wouldn’t. 20m for a 33 yr old is a lot. I have never been that impressed by him to be honest and don’t think he would do very well in our team who don’t create that much at all. I’d rather save the money and go for a long term striker
Read that his wage demands is what held up clubs to buy him.
If we have any ambition at all we should go get him. He’s a goal machine and without Rashford we are facked for goals. SAF would have gone out and gotten him.
Cavani is a world class striker, United be lucky to get him.
Think about the logic
Rash likely won’t be back until April
Martial has already had a few injuries. We are still in 4 competitions. (Likely 3 tbf)
I think there’s a fair chance he’ll get injured at some point
We need a striker as a matter of urgency.

Which is why a think and 18 month deal would suit. It might be that someone offers him a 30 month deal though and he opts for that. Still worth a try though.
The last thing we need next season is Europa football again.

Yep, and he would give us something a bit different even once Rashford is back fit.

I really don't think that £20m is that much for a striker of his quality. Even if we only get 18 months out of him I'd pay that.
Plus think just how much someone like Greenwood would learn from him?
Btw Cavani is 32
I know he’s 33 in Feb but saying he’s 33 now makes it sound like he could be 34 any day now. He’s not even 33 😂
Can't believe Mario Mandžukić joined Al-Duhail and was left out of Juventus sqid this season. Why didn't Ed try and get someone like him.
18 months sounds bearable, anything longer and I’d be concerned. But this is Ed we’re talking about, he’ll probably get a 3 year contract and highest wages in the league.

Because he’d played a grand total of 0 minutes in any competition this season
Yeah but he was scoring in a world cup final and CL final not so long ago.
We just have to hope Greenwood steps up massively as we know Martial isn't a proper striker.

True but by saying he’s 33 the narrative soon becomes that he’s almost 34 etc. You know this place 😹
I do like BTTS tbf. Especially in Spanish and Italian games where it happens so much. Betting funds are the way to do it too. Have an amount you kiss goodbye to whatever happens and then make the smart choices.

Yeh, I just do £20 at the weekend and if I win I continue it through into the week, banking some along the way.
Seem to be having some joy/luck with the 6 games BTTS. I was going for 10 games before, but kept coming up a game short, which is frustrating as the payout tends to be £1,500 - £2,000 off a fiver. So I have knocked it down to 6 games the last few weeks, which pays more like £150-£200 off a fiver. Seems to be working much better for me.
Old and injury prone but he's obviously class
