I'd say having Ole is manager is worse for The Glazers and Ed as the manager will be the last person to be targeted for abuse.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They couldn’t even get that right in retrospect

Really, can anyone see any chief executive in any business performing like this, with such a record of failure and zero reform, zero restructuring, zero investment in infrastructure, watching the quality of his staff - thanks to his own appointments - degrade, for seven years
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I just dont know who we.can get to replace Woodward or who people think is going to identify the replacement.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Someone who truly understands the game and is also quite a savvy operator in other fields too. Ed just doesn't inspire confidence with the things he comes out with.

What happened in the game tonight, I was playing football?
I checked the stats and we had about 27 shots to their 5 and lost 2-0?
Looks like total domination but poor finishing...?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

We missed two good chances in the first half (both Martial) but those stats are misleading.

Especially in the second half where we offered almost nothing

Slight bit of a rant, but I feel sorry for a few of your players.

For all the criticism of the glazers and recruitment or players, I actually think you’ve bought some potentially excellent players and then ruined them by both poor development and giving them too much accountability before they’re ready.

Maguire is a good player but he’s still learning and still needs someone strong and experienced alongside him. I don’t know if it’s because you spent so much on him, but he is not a club captain, he’s not ready for that or even being your main centre half.

James has a shedload of potential but he isn’t at the right level yet. Nor should he be expected to be, he should be gradually being introduced and increasing his game time over this season, not already a regular starter.

Even Martial, he joined you when he was 19. The player he is now is what you have made him. He needs to leave for his own sake as much as you need someone else. I find it frustrating as hell looking at how little he’s actually developed. He must look at Depay now and think I wish Lyon had come in for me instead.

I don’t think you will sack Solksjaer, he’ll get a while yet unless things go really bad. To me, he’s already shown he’s not ready either though and the longer you leave it, it’s not that those promising players stagnate, they regress and that just increases the rebuild required every time.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Good post Melton. I feel we have a lot of players who'd look much better in a confident side. The three you mentioned would look much better at City for example especially the two attacking players as they'd have much more opportunity to attack.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I’ve said it a few times about Martial in particular I’d have loved to have cloned him and had Guardiola coach him.

And this intentional lowering standards thing doesn’t make sense either. Our owners only care about money, it is not in their interest to power standards so that we lose money through lack of participation in the CL.

It’s why everyone of our managers got sacked. And why Ole will be in the summer.

They’ve lowered standards though incompetence, not a deliberate act to try and fool the fans that they don’t care about.

As long as the Glazers can use Utd as a cash cow they won't care a jot. Ed has said Utd don't need to win anything to generate revenue.

Glazers and Woodward tenure at the club are irrevocably linked.

£150 million is a lot of money by anyones standard even utd. The problem was recruitment has been poor since saf left. And the man ultimately responsible for this was Ed woodward. My feeling is that he was not willing to handover this power to a DOF as he should have after jose.

the goodwill from fans after ole's appointment allowed ed to shelf all talk about DOF.

Its not OGS fault. We need likes of Pereira, Fred, Pogba, Jones, De Gea, Shaw, Matic, all out. They don’t offer anything to us. Pogba would rather be somewhere else. I remember watching the 2015 CL final and everyone saying how great Pogba is but I watched that final and he did near nothing a below average player couldn’t do. Nothing at all. Even Cleverley used to do more better things than what Pogba showed that game. Juventus must have been laughing when we paid so much to get him back.

Honestly shocked how such a poor keeper like De Gea since 2018 World Cup on has been getting so little media attention. He gets paid so much and rarely can make a save unless straight at him. I honestly think De Gea has lost his reflexes and now is past his best or he just doesn’t care anymore and has no professional pride.

We got no chance of making top 4 with current squad. It doesn’t matter if you put SAF, Klopp or Guardiola in charge, it won’t make a difference. All these managers are known for sides that score lots of goals and defensively don’t concede much goals.

Whats annoying is we have thrown so many points since March to now on games we completey dominate as the opposition are near 7x more clinical than us in a lot of matches since March.

We actually played quite well for the first half hour. Martial and Mata should have scored and that would have been that.

But, then Burnley get a goal out of nothing and then get a worldie in the second half and that was that.

Very similar to a few of our losses this season.

The team is picked by the manager. The manager takes the credit when things go right and by the same token the buck stops with the manager when things don't go right.

That was a shambles tonight.

but that is what makes football one of the greatest sports. A poorer team can get a goal against the run of play, it is then up to the better team to turn this around and we simply have not looked capable of doing that under this management

Coaching staff have fully sucked the ability out of James and Maguire. Couldn’t coach a Megabus let alone professional footballers. Players who first joined, looked vibrant and full of confidence, now look a shadow of themselves.

The whole club is toxic. We need a wipeout from top to bottom. And this is not just on Ole, but these players aren’t coached properly. I love him and I see what he’s trying to do with the clear out but he’s not doing well with the tools at his disposal.

The players on the pitch are playing below their respective potential. These are technical players that have been courted by some of the best managers around - they can be coached to pass and move and attack effectively, lets be honest.

.......

That is the problem. The squad was weak to start with. Bungle and Zilppy failed to support the manager in the summer adequately enough and seem to be effing around in January.

posted on 22/1/20

I don’t see us getting top 4 this season. Europa League is our best chance as Romero is our main keeper who can save shots and Greenwood is our best finisher so playing with these 2 is a huge upgrade over first choice De Gea and Martial.

Honestly never seen Man Utd have so many shots and concede so few shots regularly and rarely win. Its like a pattern since March after we beat PSG. Tons of shots, great chances in most of the games but struggle to score. Opposition have very few chances but near enough nearly always score against us.

Its funny Kepa is getting trolled when De Gea has been worse in mistakes for a longer period now and can barely make a save in any game that doesn’t lead to a goal unless its extremely easy.

I honestly feel for Solskjaer. He must look at the stats and wonder how he has such poor players to work with. SAF would have sacked near the lot of them by now.

and that has been a problem and why there was so much talk of a dof. People who have made a career out of recruiting the right players and staff

the utd model of ceo and manager only worked because we had SAF as manager for so long. It is totally unsuitable for modern football and not a club that is still trying to find the right manager
