Here's a thought maybe Ed and the Glazers are not as bad as we fans think?

Has SAF ever said anything bad about the Glazers?

Good point, well made.

LVG and Jose have hinted they could say a lot more but aren’t allowed

As with comic book guy yesterday, I can only applaude you guys for finding fresh and ever more boring ways to have a dig at Ole.

2005 is 15 years ago... the idea that he might've changed his mind during that time doesn't even approach 'selling out'.

And even if he could be accused of hypocrisy, at the £7.5m he's reported to be getting a year, anyone here saying they'd not toe the line and be a yes man to the Glazers is, quite frankly, a liar.

I don’t know if SAF has said anything but as he’s on the board I assume he’s not going to rock the boat.

But the idea that the Glazers and Ed aren’t that bad is madness - now much evidence do you need?

Another 10-15 seasons, please.

Saying that the owners back him is hardly being a sell out. That's really the only point in what you've quoted that could be used to imply that. Just because Jimmy Saville once offered me a lollipop and tour of his dressing room doesn't mean I forgive the noncery.

Not what I was saying Rob. Fwiw I was against the glazer takeover etc. Mainly due to the money involved in terms of debt. But also from snippets of their ownership of American teams.

But I have to say in terms of how they have supported the managers with signings and money spent I have to ask have they been that bad?

And yeah I am playing DA a bit here. Maybe just maybe the problems are other than ownership and Ed?

Bit unfair to expect Ole to come out and say anything about the Glazers and he probably took the job because he loves the club and feels he can help.

I do wish our retired players would come out and show their anger at Woodward and the Glazers, Neville finally did the other day but even then he never actually mentioned names. It’s as if they’re too scared to.

Did Fergie come across as a yes-man and a lackey? He never uttered a hint of criticism of the Glazers or of any of his chief executives. In fact, it would be much easier for Fergie to speak out now - he doesn't have much to lose.

I'm no Glazers and Ed fan mate. Neither am I happy with where we are at.

But if I was to out away my bias and look at what I know then I do wonder if the blame is at their door completely.

For example Moyes was he SAF idea and therefore fault or the owners and Ed?

Big money signings like dimaria Sanchez Pogba etc owners or managers?

The Glazers have taken over a billion out of the club, they haven’t spent a single penny of their own money on the club either, all money spent comes from profit the club have made. On top of that they still haven’t paid off the debt and don’t look like spending any money on the stadium which supposedly needs major work done. They’re a cancer on the club, there really is no other way of looking at it.

Ferguson also used the ‘no value in the market’ phrase during his time under Glazer which seemed to be an excuse to not being backed in the market. You also have to look at how the Glazers were able to buy the club in the first place.

It is frustrating people such as Ferguson and Charlton doesn’t say anything publically.

Moyes wasn’t really Ferguson’s idea, before that Ferguson had travelled to NY to speak to Pep about the job while the club had also enquired about Klopp and Ancelotti’s availability. The problem was more down to bad luck and bad timing with the death of Ferguson’s sister in law and Gil taking on the job for the FA. That set in motion his quick retirement which left the club with no time to bring in the right replacement.

Yeah I get that mate and I honestly am not a fan. But I do sometimes wonder if us fans look at things in a fair way.

What I mean is that even the ole contract was fans and ex players demanding it after his early success. See the Rio clip for example.

Even the Jose signing was lauded in some quarters especially by likes of Rob. It didn't work out and the focus became the owners and Ed.

Similarly player signings like dimaria and Pogba. Big money for players that fans were very excited about. Now it's used to have a go.

Or perhaps saf was simply noting the insanity of transfers in English football, where he’d be spot on?

Trust me on this, the Glazers will be happy to turn us into the Tampa Bay buccaneers mkII so long as we still generate a profit. Trash team, having never returned to even the playoffs having won the super bowl early in the Glazer reign - see the similarities? - tight with cash, operating way below the NFL salary cap. Persisting with under-performing players because they're cheap. The parallels between United and Tampa over the last 10 years are startling.

He has a seat on the board which I doubt he wants to lose - at his age I don’t expect him to say much as with his ill health it’s probably best not to start wars.

I get that mate. But the fact that SAF was doing all that surely shows that someone who was Mr UTD was allowed and backed to find a replacement. It didn't happen but not because the Glazers or Ed stopped it.

Obviously we don't know the ins and outs in detail but of what I know then all managers have been backed financially etc for player signings etc
