Trust me on this, the Glazers will be happy to turn us into the Tampa Bay buccaneers mkII so long as we still generate a profit. Trash team, having never returned to even the playoffs having won the super bowl early in the Glazer reign - see the similarities? - tight with cash, operating way below the NFL salary cap. Persisting with under-performing players because they're cheap. The parallels between United and Tampa over the last 10 years are startling.

Said this a few days ago... They don't particularly care about success on the pitch as long as they can lift a dividend

Jinja

Clearly the issues arent 100% down to the Glazers and Ed, other factors have played their part. The bottom line is that there is no real long term plan with the club, we’ve hired 4 different managers with 4 different playing styles and philosophies resulting in a Frankenstein squad that any manager would struggle to work with. And that ultimately is Ed’s fault who represents the Glazers.

As with comic book guy yesterday, I can only applaude you guys for finding fresh and ever more boring ways to have a dig at Ole.

When Klopp does a U-turn you jump all over it, when Ole does a U-turn you turn a blind eye.

The quotes are there. First he is against the Glazers, now he is taking a pay check from them and licking their bums

What you have said here is that in 2005 before the takeover, Ole was very happy with the then owners. As he wanted the best for the club as all supporters do, he was naturally wary about the proposed takeover by Glazer. As we all were.

You then cut to 15 years later and quote him as saying that in his short time as the now manager, he has always been personally backed by the present owners.

Therefore he must be a yes man and lackey.

Brilliant!

No body likes the Glazers and they way they have bought the club. But the finance that the owners have provided each manager's tenure since Fergie has been well adequate to compete in the transfer market for players of the quality to compete at least with the likes of Burnley.

The question is; Who is in charge of player recruitment and contracts at the club? There lies the problem at the club.

I'm playing DA to a degree mate BUT I don't see the parallels

If anything it's been the opposite at UTD. Paying over the odds in buying players and their salaries. I mean Sanchez for example and maguire

2005 is 15 years ago... the idea that he might've changed his mind during that time doesn't even approach 'selling out'.

And even if he could be accused of hypocrisy, at the £7.5m he's reported to be getting a year, anyone here saying they'd not toe the line and be a yes man to the Glazers is, quite frankly, a liar.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So he's a yes man then but because he takes a couple million its ok

No it doesn’t. We spent 90m on Pogba,90 on Lukaku, 80 on Maguire, 50 on awb. They’ve turned out to be largely crap, but that’s not from a lack of spending.

Does Ferguson have a seat on the board? I thought him and Charlton have no say in the running of the club and are simply just ambassadors which they are supposedly very frustrated about.

It’s as bad as it’s ever been post-SAF right now and the fans are voting with their feet. Hopefully someone up there is noticing.

I did see something on a football site a day or two ago that is probably them putting two and two together and getting 5.

They said that Joel Glazer (allegedly) stepping in and binning the deal that Ed and co are trying to do with Sporting means he’s tired of Ed and is taking power away from his hands potentially leading to Ed being sacked.

A bit of a reach but interesting if true

The facts don't show that tbf

If anything we are spending too much on players and paying silly salaries

Don't know how the salary cap operates but your club has spent big .
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s all relative.

Our club has spent a fraction of what it could have - again, the Glazers have taken almost £1bn out of the club - and, as importantly, it has spent terribly.

It has been paying Ed facking Woodward £3m a year for starters

The Glazers remind me of a rich sugar daddy who shells out money to his young girlfriend but doesn’t show her any love

Sure, money is spent but there is no care and people on the outside wonder why things aren’t great.

SAF and Charlton are non-executive directors. They have no decisionmaking power.

To a man, every single member of the executive board is a non-football person.

Wrong anology. More like a rich sugar daddy who keeps buying expensive prostitutes who he falls in love with, but they just take advantage and walk all over him.

What is Ed's role at UTD? In it's entirety?

Not being funny but from what little I know he has been key in generating sponsorship etc and we are raking it in. In any private venture a guy who brings in the money gets rewarded financially

Doesn't help us fans when our team is in turmoil I know but he has been bringing in the wonga

Woodward recently hired himself a PA advisor to help with his public image. Glad he’s sorting that out rather than getting in a DoF.

I think he sees himself as a DoF

He reminds me of Deputy Dewey from Scary Movie.
