Agree Mason.
Tbf it's difficult for most.
First of all Ole isn't talking in his own language, he's good but may miss some nuance.
Second he doesn't want to be slagging the owners off, he has to work with theM
Third, he has to keep the squad and players happy.
Fourth he wants to give some encouragement to the fans.
All in all, not easy.
Agree LvG was the best, he was old enough not to care; he said what he though, plus was funny.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Also was the most successful in terms of implementing a philosophy. Only to be sacked before it could come to fruition.
To think if that season had been a little less boring he might have got to finish the job. His vision was the most exciting too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I do think that if LVG had stayed another year, we would probably be in a better shape now. One of our main problems has been jumping from one type of manager to another instead of choosing ones that share similar styles. It has left us with an unbalanced squad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There’s no evidence to help your claim as he regressed from his first season and the football was dire.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was talking about the state of the club/squad Robb. The change to Jose was just like a new start. Had Jose taken another job and we replaced LVG at the end of 3 years as planned, we would likely (possibly) have had a more modern coach who wouldn't have signed/played a load of giants.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why would you think the squad would be better? Jose had to clear out a lot of LVGs dross when he took over. If LVG had another season no doubt the next manager would have to have done even more clearing out than Jose had to do
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think that it would have been more in-sync with what a traditional United squad looks like. Jose didn't sign United players for me on the whole.

Ole might not have even got the job if Jose didn't.
The point I am making is that we haven't let any of our managers since SAF left see their vision through. Which is fair enough based on what they delivered. But we have compounded their failure to deliver by changing to a completely different type of manager each time. What we are/Ole is dealing with now is the culmination of 7 years of chopping and changing, without any kind of vision from the club.
All the noise coming out of the club now indicates to me that there is some kind of plan, although I do think we still need a director of football. The message seems to be that we are looking to bring in the right kind of players in terms of motivations, age and style of play. Not just for the here and now and for our current manager - but for the club as a whole moving forwards. I have said it before, but I think it is a case of short term pain for a long term benefit.
Jose got all the time we expected and that he wanted
The club does need some sort of forward plan - but Ole won’t be that guy as in addition to the handicaps he’s had handed to him (just as it was for Moyes, LVg and Jose) he hasn’t shown any aptitude for dealing with them.
He’s had the lowest expectations since SAF left and a raft of fans prepared to give him 20 years until things improve but he’s actually taken us backwards and every day he’s at the club we look more and more stupid.

No-one is prepared to give him 20 years Robb. Stop being silly. Xmas time next year is reasonable for me. Assuming he is given the funds to bring new players in, especially a midfield, and we still aren't seeing any real progress, then time to get shut.
Do you honestly think he’s gonna make it to the end of the season?
We’re facing another 3/4 defeats in the next month. Maybe more. He’s lucky to still be there. I don’t even think it’s about saying ‘we should give him until x’
His days are numbered and I wouldn’t be surprised if the axe came in the next few weeks

I think that he will make it until the end of the season. I feel that his future is tied in with Ed's future and Ed will give him as long as he can for fear of losing his own job.

That wouldn’t really apply if for example he quit and said the reason for it was that he wasn’t supported properly.
It’s an opinion rather than a breach of confidentiality
All the noise coming out of the club now indicates to me that there is some kind of plan
———
This has usually been the case the last seven years. People just conveniently forget that it’s been the case.
The issue is, and always has been, that the club don’t have the ability to enact their plans effectively. Which is why they shelve them so quickly. Ole won’t be any different.
I just think , no matter how rotten it is, If your working in an organisation like utd , you can't rock the boat too far, you can only chip away and butter up the management otherwise theyll eliminate you in a second

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Were
Rojo
Bastian
Morgan
ADM
Falcao
Depay
Shaw
Etc
United style players? Some yes, some no but no more/less than Jose ones
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Morgan no, the rest yes. In terms of their style.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There’s like 4/5 styles there
Much as there is with the players Jose signed
Face it, LVG was as bad as what has come before and really isn’t worth musing over in 2020

I am not saying that he was any better than what Jose delivered. What I am saying is that the change to Jose and his approach has (in part) lead to the Frankenstein squad that we have now.

I thought you had a job Robbie. You need to read your contract of employment. Key elements; Confidentiality

That wouldn’t really apply if for example he quit and said the reason for it was that he wasn’t supported properly.
It’s an opinion rather than a breach of confidentiality

This has usually been the case the last seven years. People just conveniently forget that it’s been the case.
The issue is, and always has been, that the club don’t have the ability to enact their plans effectively. Which is why they shelve them so quickly. Ole won’t be any different.

I just think , no matter how rotten it is, If your working in an organisation like utd , you can't rock the boat too far, you can only chip away and butter up the management otherwise theyll eliminate you in a second
