I really hope he gives us a similar if not better option than Saiz. We missed him after he left last January. He was just a bit too reluctant to pass at the best time.

However if this lad can run and beat players then he could make a difference.

Let’s hope so.

i really hope he's not like saiz.

I'm sorry but I can't get excited about this signing.

Like everyone, I hope he does well but the most important signing of this window is nowhere to be seen with a week to go.

I recall the owners saying that we will only bring in players who are better than we already have. On that basis he should walk straight into the first team. The reality is he's made one senior appearance so what experience does he have?

As for 4 and a half years, Ouasim Bhoy anybody?

More like another benchwarmer to keep the creche kids company.

The transfer policy of the current owners, given the position we're in is poor to say the least.

Looks like Miazek will be allowed to leave following the arrival of the Italian keeper. Why couldn't they decide to let him go at the beginning of the window instead of at the end?

The timing, as usual, is crass and only serves to add to the notion that this lot don't know what they are doing.

They have no conception of time or its consequences.

They Just dont learn.............

all over again. 4.5year deal for a player who has played 1 efl game in his career to date when city put a load of kids in the side.

Last season Bielsa wanted a young, pacy tricky Daniel James. He clearly is hoping Poveda is something like.

Did someone really just suggest Harrison Costa and Poveda play at once?

This is an U23 player that club are trying to position as a first teamer to placate the fans who are getting anxious because we’ve done eff all in the window.

The palpitations at some YouTube videos show some fans here are a marketeers dream.

Doesn't mean anything if we can't score goals. Oh wait, we need a striker for that. This window is doing my head in.

It doesn't help with Forshaws continual injury battle. Some players like him and Roberts have the ability to play Bielsa ball but not the body for it. It has really been an issue and puts a lot of pressure on likes of Klich to play every game and the consequences I'd doing that over a 46 game season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The only solution we have is shackleton. Needs to prove he can stay fit and show the potential he showed little bit last season.

Played an energetic and solid 30 minutes for the U23s on Friday.

No, fingers crossed he’s good and proves to be worth a four and a half year contract.

But here’s the thing, if you’re Cooper or Ayling or Bamford are you thinking this is a great signing and all us lads in the dressing room are now re motivated enough to kick on.

Are you?

Because what we need right now has changed. What we need right now is no longer just a goalscorer (which this player isn’t) we need a player whose arrival boosts morale lifts the dressing room.

A Vinnie type signing wouldn’t score goals himself but would lift the dressing room for example.

Realistically, fee, wages, current situation, who would you sign? Would they come?

The club have tabs on far more players than I can list.

Bowen would be one, the players and fans would see the club is going for it compared to Poveda signing,

He would be bit part interchanging with Harrison and Costa but scores more goals than either of them.

But damage already done by promising early business and delivering nothing. Now it’s clearly 3rd/4th choice players.

I’m not advocating spending huge amounts up front nor a commitment to purchase but there will be right players somewhere but if we’ve focussed on wrong ones or deals that just weren’t going to happen and 19 year olds then we’re up against it now.

Club has to break the perception from last January that we can actually get proper singing done.

As for Poveda....., Manchester City has inserted clauses including a buy-back option so I'm assuming he's not all bad. Harrison had his doubters but he's proving to be a bloody good acquisition. One that could be permanent at the end of this campaign.

We'd all like to see some high profile activity in the transfer market but a) the real opportunities are very few and far between (look at the activity thus far across the divisions), b) we have financial limitations, c) I'm not entirely sure that there's an attractive proposition at Leeds United given the current state of play (style, selection) and d) if they read the comments on here, as one individual once suggested that they might...., is it worth their while stepping into a vipers' nest of criticism often before they've kicked a ball in anger.

Our two signings thus far, for me, are looking at the future and have a little more credibility than previous acquisitions in this arena. Well done Leeds United. Credit where credit is due.

Bowen is a good target but can we afford him? Are we a realistic destination versus a lower profile Premier League club? Hull City still harbours ambitions of the play offs themselves, what's the likelihood of them selling to a rival at this juncture?

Stop comparing Poveda to Harrison because they came from the same club....

posted on 25/1/20

its a coincidence regarding the sourcing club nothing more. The comparison is obvious for all to see.

I honestly can’t wait to see the reaction on here if 1, he scores on his debut.. or 2, he comes on, and is awful.

The fact is it could be somewhere in between, nobody has seen him play properly so it’s not really fair to blast the club just, not is it right to start bumming the lad.

As for the latter part of the statement I'm reminded to say that we live in a diverse world where equality exists for all and it is not for us to pass judgement on other peoples preferences in that direction.

Seriously though, how many signing has Bielsa agreed to that turn out really bad?.. forget Orta for a second. Because we have to assume MB gives the nod!

Lads that have come into Bielsa team:

Eddie.. didn’t work, good player though, not as strong as some folk think though 😂

White.. yep, good.

Harrison, Costa.. yes, good

It’s early, help me out here?

posted on 25/1/20

I agree. Bielsa has the final word. Doesn't mean he's always right mind.....

Transfers at all clubs are going to be hit and miss, just more magnified here because it's our club. VO has an important role but he's still only part of an overall process.

I no nothing about Poveda save what I've read from independent sources. Harrison, whether anyone likes it or not, is a good comparison. I recall very few knowing much about him when he arrived, sages telling us we shouldn't be developing someone else's player and at several points last season how useless he was......

Some of those very same people criticising the club for not securing a more experienced player on loan for expensive, costly loan fees and wages.

It's not an exact science and clubs don't bow down in deference to Leeds United.

I'm as frustrated as anyone else. However, you have to bring a sense of reality to the situation and understand the bigger picture.

It’s not obvious at all, Harrison played numerous first team
Matches for a major team. Poveda is nowhere near that. Harrison then took some months to settle in and that was after Pre season. Poveda has no Pre season to settle in and we’ve 3 months left.

So, what is this obvious comparison?
