Sadly for him, he isn’t being helped by injuries and Ed, and he hampers himself by making mistakes here and there.

You are far more qualified than me in that respect.
When we are playing teams where we will have most the the possession, play Willams and Dalot... When we need some defensive steel, play Shaw and AWB.
Then mix them up a bit if we need some of both.

Laird is superb going forward as well and can defend. Could well be putting pressure on AWB after the summer for his place.

Except he made four excellent chances in the first half against Burnley. Two excellent balls against Arsenal, two against Newcastle (one of which ended up as an assist)...
AWB's attacking deficiencies are being blown out of all proportion. He's shown he can deliver a good ball. He clearly needs to find a bit of consistency and tidy up some of his passing, but he's hardly the finished article at his age.
And it's not as if he has anyone in front of him that he can link up with as we simply don't have a specialist right sided attacker.
Wonder if we'll see a return to 343/3412 as more players come back.
AWB, Jones, Lindelof, Maguire, Rojo, Bailly, Axel all could play in the three. This is where we have depth in the squad.
Dalot, Williams, Shaw, James for the wide positions in midfield.
Williams reminds me of a certain Forest full back. Especially the no nonsense aspect.
Must be a record breaking season for us since SAF left in terms of shots on target in all competitions in one season.

Yeah he definitely has an "edge" to his game. Sometimes has been a bit impetuous but that's to be expected of a young guy coming through. Looks a real player. And does give us pace and attacking threat from the full back area, which is something we've lacked for a while now
