BBC have rushed to get a story out and had a shocker, but some of those tweets... :/

I'm fairly sure the footage was of James beating Bryant's career points total, so it could easily come up when searching for Bryant footage. An amateur mistake, but that is all it is.

RIP to every one of them

The previous story (moving above him ) was on their website so not really an excuse.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, definitely no excuse, especially for organisation as big as the BBC.

just shows basketball isnt really known here

They used the clip of LeBron overtaking Kobe's points record the night before by accident.

Probably the first video in their archives when they searched for Kobe. Still no excuse, a tiny bit of research would have gone a long way.

I swear helicopters seem so dangerous. Almost went in one around Vegas once but a few months before one crashed into the Grand Canyon and it was just too scary to think about going out like that
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yup, used them when I worked offshore. I would never ever get in one now

They are meant to still be able to operate if the engine cuts out but I haven't actually heard of this ever happening.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

They are meant to but in my experience, that does not happen. We ditched into the sea once. Thankfully it was near a ship or we would not have made it.

Been in a helicopter once. That was once too often.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

When you look at the engineering behind it. Nearly all parts are constantly moving away from each other.

A True sporting legend.

Tragic.

as for the bbc there researchers are just idiots. Not just the james clip but nearly everything they said about his career was wrong. Morons.

One of the fellas on our board, Gem worked offshore on rigs for years and he has some pretty terrifying tales of them as well.

reports suggest this was simple pilot error.

He was flying in thick fog. The local emergency flying services were grounded at the time due to the conditions

He was apparently told to elevate the thing but didnt.

Seems very avoidable.

Fog won't make a helicopter crash unless it's hit something

It did hit something, a hill. he was flying too low and was warned to go higher.

they are gonna sue the balls off that company.

Didn't fly into a hill ?

Unsure... But that would do it

Financial backer and big Chelsea fan Matthew Harding died in a helicopter crash in 96 that was in poor conditions..it was found that the pilot was inexperienced to fly in those conditions using just instruments... I'm unsure if the same applies in this here

posted on 27/1/20

I thought there was a problem rather than just flying too low and hitting the hill.

Not sure how experienced he was but he was clearly a bit of an idiot (rip) he was told to climb by air traffic control.

I guess in some way that would have been less painful for those on board. Can't imagine knowing you are gonna crash for thirty seconds being a great feeling
