Prefer Grealish but it doesn't matter tbh. Pick one and move on from Pogba. Promise ourselves not to make a signing that was just as much a " big name signing" as it was a player we absolutely needed.
I suspect we will only sell for <£100m when it comes to 12 months remaining on his contract.
That might be this summer if we don't have the trigger to extend his by another year. Not sure.

I spent the summer saying CB was our least important position to strengthen (I didn't disagree that it needed improving, just that it was low priority). It seemed painfully obvious that improving midfield would strength both defence *and* attack.
To not sign anyone in this window with our two best midfielders and most prolific attacker out for substantial amounts of time is criminal.
Also worth considering that any overspending in Jan is offset by the fact our net spend in the summer was very low, and we've permanently shifted Young, Lukaku, Darmian, Herrera & Fellaini from the wage bill in the last 12 months, as probably some of Sanchez & Smalling's wages, too.
BK, yep I recall our discussions over it. I just cannot fathom how anyone at the club couldn’t see this. As you say, it’s painfully obvious that improving the midfield would have an impact on both our defence and attack. What’s actually happened is that we’ve not even improved the defence and the defenders we did sign have limited us in attack as well.
I think pretty much everyone on here said that Herrera needed to be replaced as paramount.
Much more required than a CB.

as mentioned before, there was interest in the midfield but for whatever nothing materialised (players such as longstaff, Eriksen and Dybala reported)
nowhere has it ever been said by anyone at the club that our entire budget was ever spent on the defence.
because we couldnt get our targets in midfield are you suggesting we should have thought feck it.. we wont improve and spend elsewhere if we cant get a midfielder in?

im amazed how many people know the ins and outs of what goes on behind closed doors at the club.
A priority next summer in terms of outgoings should be our bloody defence.
Stuck with 3 crocks in Jones, Bailly and Rojo. Get rid of them all and you have Maguire, Lindelof, Smalling and Axel.

You don’t need to be psychic to see who we brought in and who we didn’t. And what we needed and what wasn’t needed as much.
You don’t need to know all the ins and outs to know the priorities were the defenders that we spent months negotiating for to spend £125m on. It’s bloody obvious, even RDD can work this one out.
