Its a shame and I'm sure that those who follow the NBA are genuine in their shock and grief but considering how few people do follow it in the UK its had far too much coverage.

The general feeling at work (where many had never heard of him) was that it must of been a light news day.

I would say many would also be in my position where they don't follow the sport but know his name and that he was a big player in the sport.

If this had been say an equivalent name in baseball though I doubt I'd have a clue.

Read quite a number of anecdotes about local LA florists handing out yellow and purple flowers for free.

i care as much about kobe dying as that homeless man.
by that i mean i care about all people and when you think about it the homeless man is more tragic.

basketball is sh/t, never heard of the lad until last night, but RIP.
