Where?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Most of the East Midlands and East England that voted 70% leave for starters.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Here in stoke an over whelming majority voted for leave. What they didn't take into account was all the regeneration money was coming from Europe and has stopped mid project. Projects being knocking down old housing stock and getting full market value for your house rather than clearance value (basically thousands of pounds lost of clearance value and if you have no insurance you're fecked)

Think same will happen in Sunderland, another area with huge money from Europe. But again majority voted leave.

This is what I can't get my head around those benefitting most wanted out??? What's that about?

Frankie Drake was a pirate.

And he got knighted for his endeavours ( as do all the rsoles ).

Cos he was Brit it was just a laugh and they called him a privateer.

Don’t believe a single word of that.

We are still in the EU. Money for these projects have had fair contributions from the U.K. They absolutely will not have stopped mud project at all.

Christ I don’t mind people pointing out the good and the bad, but let’s but just make sheite up eh?

If any projects have stopped it’s not because we voted to leave the EU ffs.

Honestly.

Well, demolishing most of Stoke would certainly get my vote! Most of the residents would feel more comfortable in caves anyway, if it's anything like it was last time I was there (early 90's)

All these projects are at risk as post 2020 the UK government has not committed to funding (all jointly UK/EU funded):

https://ec.europa.eu/unitedkingdom/business-funding/eu-funding/examples_en

Since 2016 a raft of projects, most notably in science and research, have been forced to close, or withdraw from EU schemes, as the UK government cannot commit to future grants post 2020.

Aye very good Stuart.

“At risk” in no way adds any credence whatsoever to the bunkum that projects have been suddenly stopped mid project as was the earlier ludicrous claim.

Nice try though

“Under the Withdrawal Agreement negotiated with the EU, the UK will continue to participate in the programmes financed by the current EU Budget until their closure. This means that all EU funded programmes will be fully funded under the current 2014-2020 Multiannual Financial Framework.”

After 2020 EU funding stops. The government has not committed to future funding. So how do you expect them to continue?

A high profile example being the EU’s Galileo (satellite navigation) project. The UK has pumped in over a billion pounds into the project, and UK companies have been able to procure lucrative development contracts.

The UK also successfully had a motion passed in the EU parliament which ensured future procurement for Galileo can only be tendered by member states. The irony.

I don’t and neither do the U.K. government. But again all I was saying that the nonsense stating that projects had been abandoned mid way was just, well nonsense really.

As for funding in the future; we’ll fund our own and the EU will fund theirs I guess.

Funding, whilst very important, is not the only issue. Post 2020 it will be much harder, (and in some instances simply impossible) for UK (third country) companies to procure EU contracts.

For example in regard to Galelio, Airbus and British aerospace, (as well as a host of tech companies) will lose out to their European competitors.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-britain-eu-airbus/airbus-says-eu-should-keep-britain-in-galileo-space-project-despite-brexit-idUSKBN1H42ED

There are hundreds of other projects the UK (after spending many years and considerable resources) will no longer be able to contribute to/benefit from.

Will the UK government continue to fund UK schemes which rely on joint cooperation with EU counterparts? The fact the government haven’t bothered to cost, or commit to them post 2020 should tell you all you need to know.
