Turning round a two goal deficit and bagging the points last night was nothing to do with luck. It wasn't luck that won it. It was sheer determination and team spirit. Nothing to do with luck.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Our first two goals had an element of luck. The way our season has gone lately I expected Harrison’s shot to bypass everyone but the keeper palmed it to Bamford. Pablo’s had a bit of luck too - a deflection.

Yes we played great second half and the determination was there for everyone to see - but you can’t say those first two goals didn’t have some fortune in them. Long may it continue

Still can't believe what the lads did last night?
Absolutely massive. Credit to each of them and
in particular the God of Football.

Yes they were fantastic second half and deserved all they got.

My view is that the first half reflected everything that is wrong about Leeds United. Lack of professionalism, poor defensive decisions, missing midfield when it needs to get a grip of the game and impotent at front.

No doubting we were the better team. Lacked confidence and lacked structure. Inability to react to the dynamics of the game.

I don't care if the ball went out, we play to the whistle.

Second half saw the Leeds United we know exists. Confident, full of purpose and relentless.

Bamford's brace will do him a power of good. I actually have no issue with his reaction, his critics are at times persistent and he put the ball away twice. He doesn't go out there trying to miss sitters. Bielsa plays him regardless. I believe Bamford will hit 20 this season and the arrival of Augustinis nothing but positive for all.

Excellent recovery. Proud of the team but we should not have got ourselves into that position in the first place. As far as I can see, the only team that can really defeat Leeds United is Leeds United.

The team wasn't set up properly. We clearly are devoid of purpose without KP, why did we get ourselves into a position like that? Unacceptable. Equally, play White further up and we become a defensive shambles. We need another competent centre half too. Small squad, big problems.

We were lucky. How often do we concede a stupid first goal and the struggle to score despite 95% possession and 300 shots on goal? I exaggerate but you get the point.

Tactics, squad size, lack of proper cover, no plan B. This is Bielsa's bag. Shout at AR and co but they act on MB's requests. Shout at the players but it's MB that sets them up and provides the game plan.

I'm not slating MB but he is the proverbial flawed genius. We got out of jail last night, big time. Great result but we almost dropped three points against a team that shouldn't be causing us any problems.

We fecked up last season, on the evidence of recent results and the first half, we were about to do so again.

I suspect transfer activity is done now. If we are successful and reach the promised land we seriously need to address the squad make up and the tactics if Bielsa decides to stay.

I'm on a mission but didn't think it was worthy of another "last night's thoughts' post.....

For me, last night summed up being a Leeds Fan.
Mental first half filled with anger and frustration and
swear words. Second half filled with fooking awesome.
It's like a drug that doen't emaciate you. Massive.

Tbf Millwall were riding high in the form table and we were near the bottom.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We are a better team by a country mile and form is pretty much down to Leeds United not playing to its known strengths. I can't imagine anyone saying that Millwall was the better team on paper or on the green stuff last night.

Agree Stevie.

That's what makes this season so maddening.
We are clearly fantastic at times. And then we
double-barrel the sh * T out of both feet. But,
we're the best team in this division.

And Derby are fooking crap.

Bet you wasn't thinking that at 2-0 down though.

Yes I was, that's why I get so angry and frustrated. We were bloody amateurish last night. How many Millwall players would walk into our first team now? Jed Wallace is someone who causes issues but the others?

It was clearly a tale of two halves last night.

First Half: Sh . 8 Te.

Second Half: God's gift to football.

Stevie, excellent analysis. The one factor you haven't taken into account is what Phil Hay calls, 'the Alcatraz of the Championship.' This is a brutal, unforgiving league. Every team has something to play for, and every team plays their cup final against us. How many goalkeeping displays like Bialkowski's have we seen this season? How many games have we seen that are 'meaningless'? How often do teams at the bottom beat teams at the top? How often do teams get into their stride and then falter...or falter, and then go on a run? This makes the league so unpredictable and exciting. the past three seasons have been one extended adrenaline rush for the team and the fans. We should be able to win the golden ticket this year but one thing is for sure, if we are in the Premier League next season, we won't be seeing many games like last night.

Totally agree. Clubs have always raised their game against Leeds United for as long as I remember. Popular for being unpopular, fans who must rank amongst the most loyal, partisan and bloody noisy in the game.

But we've always known this and a man of MB should be able to outwit his opponent rather than operate with only one plan.
