Not a bad shout. Can't see them wanting to let him play though. They will want him to do the full pre-season with the squad.
United love picking up our used 2nds I don't see any reason why Giroud should be any different
Would rather make a bid for Dries Mertens who is out of contract in the summer

I would - been championing this for a while. Much rather him than Slimani or even worse, no striker signing at all

I must admit to having a bit of a chuckle to this.
If Ed read JA 606 he could have saved himself and United a hell of a lot of angst by not signing anyone you have championed.

As we are in the dying days of this transfer market... the options are pretty obvious.
1) If a striker that ticks all our boxes are available and can be signed... Do it. (Highly unlikely).
2) If a striker is available on a short term loan and ticks enough boxes.. Do it. (Unlikely).
3) Wait for the summer. (Likely).
