I have to say if I was choosing which game to televise I would do the same. Oxford v Newcastle is a proper cup tie and a real chance of an upset whereas this is the 4th time we've played Southampton this season and the other 3 have hardly been classics.
This is completely off topic but I was reading a Danny rose transfer story and it had a link to an express article. I didn't read the article but I just thought the guy piers Morgan is arguing with looked like Kane

Oxford v Newcastle will basically be two reserve teams doing battle. Spurs v Southampton will be two first XIs going head to head and should be the game on TV.
But hey ho if people want to watch a reserve match, they not for me to tell them not to.

What makes you think Ox won't go strong?
I live 10 miles from the stadium and work/drink with alot of their fans. I just mentioned to a few in the office that you think they'll go weak and it was met with howls of laughter.

Yep the coverage and money will be appreciated. Plus it’s a long trip in midweek from Oxford up to Newcastle. I’m sure a lot of fans won’t be able to make it. Makes sense to put it on free telly.

None of the lower league sides put out full strength, most of the Prem sides don`t either. Spurs being desperate for a trophy so will go for it.
