If Grabban isn’t on song we have NO threat going forward, his penalty was very poor, he missed a sitter and had one cleared off the line, the muppet from Huddersfield is much worse than Adomah, and I have no idea what Ameobi is ever going to do. Simple balls into our area are costing us, which is odd as we started off defending well early in the season. Lack of goals will eventually find us out, yes we probably can make the play off’s but this season could have been so much more than that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Grabban is crucial no doubt but in recent games we have also seen Lolley have a resurgence as well as Figueiredo emphasise his threat from set pieces in which I think Nuno Da Costa might well prove to be a useful asset as well. Importantly, Silva has the quality in delivery and also when given a sight at goal too to pop one in the top corner. I’m going to reserve judgement on Diakhaby until he’s had a few more games at least and intrigued about how Tyler will be used. If we’d signed Toney who’s only scored a few more goals at that level, surely people would be saying “he’s the striker signing we need to get us over the line!”

Still feel we defend balls over the top well through the Fig and Worrall CB pairing especially as well as set pieces. Closing down inside the box at times can certainly improve but it’s definitely not irremediably bad

Caniggia, you are missing the point, although we lost 2-1, the performance wasn’t that bad, the problem is we have absolutely no concept of ‘game management’, we were far too open, played straight into Birmingham’s hands by playing them at their own game. We needed to keep the ball on the ground and play through them, unfortunately we have ZERO creativity, the last 20 minutes when they should have been under intense pressure, we created absolutely nothing, it was far too easy to defend. Top of the away form v bottom of home, any other team than Forest it would have been a nailed on 3 points for the away, but read the pre game comments on the boards and most were saying we would blow it, and let’s be honest, they weren’t wrong.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree we lack creativity, especially once Silva was off. Unfortunately Carvalho hasn’t done it for us this year. But we are where we are because we deserve to be. We’re not the finished article and the recent conceding of late goals shows that. But we do have quality and especially when Sow and Watson combine we are hard to beat. It’s very frustrating when we could have gone 2-0 up and we’d all be raving about being up there with top 2.

Blimey, one loss and we’re terrible! Have a look at the table, we’re doing ok. Keep positive
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s the nature of the loss caniggia

A team that we destroyed earlier in the season 3:0

The chance to go 2:0 up and year again Grabben misses another penalty

And we end losing to a team that has a -10 GD languishing in the bottom half of the table

Yep....we were terrible and another wasted opportunity
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s gutting but missing a pen and conceding immediately is classic Forest this season. A bit more ruthlessness and we’ll be up there

Sabri described the performance as ‘Naive and sometimes stupid’, I think that sums today’s performance up perfectly. The question now is why didn’t he do something about it during the game ?
Next week v Leeds is massively interesting, both are capable of ‘bottling it’, both can be excellent on their day, my worry is that we are at home, I just hope we can raise it for this one, but again have absolutely no idea how this one will pan out. By now we should be calling this a ‘six pointer’ but in reality it’s not as either team are capable of dropping points on a regular basis.

Guess the good thing is Leeds won’t sit back and defend

We will lose to Leeds next week - I am absolutely certain of that

Whilst Leeds are somewhat stuttering, they do press consistently, and are all out attack - I don’t think we’ll be able to cope with the pressure they’ll put us under, and I’m certain they’ll beat quite convincingly

I’ll be staggered if we manage to beat them, because the way we play at home, allowing teams to attack us will play right into their strengths - not looking forward to it

Rev I’d normally agree with you, but our recent home record v Leeds isn’t too bad and a bit like Leeds playing Wigan, they can struggle with us, but only if we can create problems for them, sit back and they will destroy us, take the game too them and they may panic.
It certainly isn’t usually dull.

Maybe I’m just trying to psychologically prepare myself for next week, so if and when we lose, I’d at least mentally prepared myself for it

Mind you, the flip side of that, is that if we happen to win next week, I’ll possibly have a breakdown

REV are you saying that after the last twenty years following Forest you are not yet psychologically prepared for disappointments and let-downs on a more or less monthly basis.?

Red of course I’m prepared and hardened to our ongoing failure....however, surely at some point, that’s got to change, surely if the likes of Bournemouth, Burnley, Brighton, Watford, Leicester et-all can make a success of it, then surely we have to at some too

I really did think, that this season we had our best chance to actually challenge and go up...I really did

....maybe we still have that chance, but more than likely, know it’s Forest, we’ll blow it and be back at square one next season with it all to do once again

We’ll just have to see, I’m hopeful, and also prepared for the pain and disappointment

It’s bloody self inflicted torture

Anybody else think Diakhaby looked poor?

Grabban's face said it all!

Walker looked great though. Not only has he bulked up, but he has also got faster acceleration.
