It is pretty delusional to say Ceballos offers creativity. Isnt his only assist a tackle?

Zero creativity, Gta question Mikel on this. If not Pepe at least Ceballos
----------------------------------------------------------------------
we had creativity.

terrible finishing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not in the second half when we needed it. He brings Willock and Nketiah on when we needed to break them dwn
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Willock actually broke Burnely's command of the game at the time. We had good possession after that. Though we did get countered.

He left it way too late for Nketiah. Laca was having a stinker and really Auba should have gone in the middle.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yet did nothing with the ball, hasn’t got the quality on the ball that Ceballos has. Yes he showed energy but lacks the quality in the final 3rd. You’re delusional if you think those subs were adequate
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ceballos is not going to be Arsenal player. Whatsmore he has not created anything so I don't see where you get the idea that he could do better.

We need a player in that role but Ceballos is not it.

And btw it takes years to play that position well. Willock is just developing at this point. We do need to replace Ozil.

This midfield was like Ramsey and Song years ago. Xhaka needs to be playing CM not out in LB. Neither Gendouzi nor Torreira posses any ounce of play making abilities. We had so many chances to push Burnley in second half on the counter but lack of football brains and pace on the left from Xhaka nullified it. This was Arteta’s worst set up yet.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spot on.

It doesn’t matter who we play in MF. Not one of those players would get into any other team in the Prem. All Championship standard.

We created enough chances to win the game, and we wasted them. So it's unfair to lambast the midfield.

Ceballos is technically better on the ball than Willock, he looks for through balls and runners. Willock lacks technical quality, he’s a player you throw on to maintain a lead to keep that energy, not to try and break a team dwn. Yes I agree Ceballos isn’t great but he’s a better technical player and the better choice.

I am not sure what ppl expect.

Burnley beat Leicester and Man Utd before they played us. We knew it would be a fight and we created 4 clear chances to win compared to Burnley's 1.

You normally don't see Auba missing them.

The MF was not the problem. As a unit they did well both defensively and in attack, we didn't concede and we created numerous chances. Our strikeforce was the problem today.

Actually I am not sure thats based on any evidence. You only have look at the game against Bournmouth to see Willock playing key's passes.

Bergkamp was a striker who dropped back years after playing as a striker, Zola, Zidane, Kaka. Look at them all. Years of experience. Messi is the best at it in the world today again after losing pace. Even Cesc played from deeper.

I am not sure what you expect. Ceballos hasn't really shown anything in that position. He has done well for Spain U21 but from a deeper CM position. There was a reason why Real Madrid loaned him out. I don't think he goes back to Spain to play in that role either.

Willock is not a technical player he won’t break a deep lying defence. Ceballos is a much better technical player generally to bring on but I’m not carrying this on all afternoon , if you honestly believe that Willock was the right sub over Ceballos and Pepe then you’re kidding yourself. I like Willock but it was totally the wrong time to bring him on.

Why is Willock not a technical player when he has recently played passes that have opened defences that have led to goals?

I still don't understand why you keep on repeating that?

If you were to make the argument that he doesn't have consistency and isn't able to put his foot on the ball to dominate a game, I would agree thats a valid point.

Ceballos is not going to be an Arsenal player. He is a CM player. In fact I'd say the best game he had was against Forest when he played in a 2 man CM with Torreira. Like he plays for Spain U21 where he made his name.

Pepe is winger. And he is 26 and much more experienced at controlling the game. Could he eventually play a Dwight Yorke or Sheringham type role would be interesting. But he is a wide player with a lethal shot. I think he should have started ahead of Martinelli.
