Sandy, when Aurier stops giving away ridiculous penalties. Stops getting red cards. Stops making needless challenges. When Sanchez stops making ridiculous passes to the opposition team in defence, then I’ll get off their back.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Aurier has assisted seven gisks thus season, so take it you don't want any if those goals either. You cannot have it both ways.

Against what standard of opposition?

Cos he always lets us down against decent players.

If Aurier could stop the brain dead moments we might have a good player in there. Sadly I don’t think he will change

No good if he’s a disaster waiting to happen in defence most games mate. We need a new right back mate, it’s as simple as that.

it was a masterclass in defending well
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Right so them having about 20 good chances and missing them all including a penalty is top class defending?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This

We should’ve been 3-0 down before the red card
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeh and if my Auntie had bollox she would be my Uncle, all ifs, buts and maybes. City had two more shots on target than Spurs over the 90 minutes, and scored two less goals.

My diagnosis I hope I'm wrong but I'm starting to think we've spunked 43 mil up against the wall.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I agree with you I think we have made a big time error buying him
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Rubbish. Do you actually watch him for the whole 90 minutes, or just jump on him when he makes one bad pass. Tanganga and Lloris made a right mess up of one City attack today, then Toby clears the ball straight to a City player. Don't see you calling them out.

Oh be quiet Don, your getting boring now with your Aurier hate.

Manchester City might have played for 78 minutes of this see-saw game with 10 men only for Raheem Sterling to get away with a horribly late tackle on Dele Alli. But when they did have a man sent off – Oleksandr Zinchenko for a second bookable offence in the 61st minute – it was the prompt for Tottenham to throw off the shackles and fire the wildest of turnarounds.Until then, it was difficult to overstate City’s dominance. Sergio Agüero missed a clutch of excellent chances and Ilkay Gundogan had a penalty saved by Hugo Lloris as Pep Guardiola’s team set up residence in the Spurs half.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

So The Guardian does not mention how great we defended Sandy?

This makes no sense.

You stated that it was a defensive masterclass. It wasn’t. We didn’t concede because City were ridiculously profligate. The shots on target stat doesn’t tell the full story; Aguero somehow shot wide from around three yards out, and they completely ballsed up the chance when Lloris collided with Tanganga.

How many times in the past 4 years have we had 60-70% possession in a game and had shots blocked and saved, only to go on and lose the games?

It was our day today and today could be a massive confidence booster for the team going forward

I think Lo Celso deserves comment, he is a real strength in midfield.
And I would also give an to Lucas Moura for being a terrier up front and giving them lots to think about, and the pass to Bergwijn.

I prefer to have my own opinion from being at the game, than from a journalist who was probably in corporate drinking free booze, with probably hardly a glance at the game.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Both will be in his side, and rightly so. I don't get some of our supporters, the same ones that used to drool over cement boots when we were conceding four, five, six goals a game, yet constantly dig out two players when they are a big part of a defence that don't concede a lot.

Couldn't really buy many clean sheets before yeaterdays fluke tbh could we. Conceding so easily.

Aurier could be remain in Jose's team, he has frequently dropped Sanchez out though, think he knows he plays a lot better against smaller forwards where he cant get bullied.

We'll still be after a CB, RB and LB in the summer. Verts needs replacing and Aurier and Davies are our only right and left back.

I guarantee that Spurs will not be buying a right back, or if they do, it will be cheapo as cover for Aurier. Aurier will be a mainstay in the side, as will Sanchez for two or three years under Jose. Toby will not go on for ever, so suspect Tanganga will partner Sanchez going forward. Good young partnership that should really blossom.

Sanchez isn’t good enough to be starting
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He was decent yesterday, other than one error, but Toby also made an error, as did Tangange, as did Lloris, so no big deal. If our supporters are going to have a pop at players, every time they make one mistake, we may as well all pack up watching football. Walker also made an error for one of our goals.

Aurier was decent tbf. He's been playing well for a few weeks now. But that challenge on Augero was ridiculous. Moving away from goal on his weaker foot - he just had to stay with him.

Sanchez was OK. Did a few things right, but my god. Two simple passes gifted City with two goal scoring opportunities. Any other day we could have been 4-0 down by half time.

Dunno what's up with him recently. He makes so many mistakes. He was absolutely shocking against Middlesborough.

Toby’s error wasn’t the same, he was running back and off balance. Sanchez had plenty of time and was in control of the ball and inexplicably gave it to a City player. Tanganga’s error wasn’t his, it was Lloris’, who for some bizarre reason came charging out of his goal when Tanganga was about to clear it.

Sanchez did ok other than that dodgy pass though, I won’t be too critical of him against such a quality attack.

The OP is demented, City were the better side.
