Hi Sandy, how do you feel about Winks now he has better players around him sharing the work load?

posted on 3/2/20

I like the Jose that has rocked up at Spurs. Back to himself and not the depressed raging lunatic that was at United, i fancy you for 4th now

Some Debut for the Bergwijn as well, chest and volley against the current champions in front of a packed home crowd. Couldn't really have went any better for him.

A Center Forward (to compete with and NOT back up Kane) another RB (Aarons Hopefully) and a full pre season for Jose to properly coach the back 4 and we'll be in business.

City threw that game away yesterday but fair play to to Jose and the team, took the opportunity when it came their way. I wouldn't bet against Spurs making top 4..... A fit NDombele to complement GLC & Winks and now some competition for Son & Lucas could get us over the line... good cup run would be a nice bonus.

Don't wanna get too carried away, stringing a few consecutive wins would be nice

He did OK yesterday, and he had my full support. Still think we can do better, but hopefully he will prove me wrong, and he will kick on.

Thought he had his best game for a while.... Starting to think 4-3-3 is probably our best formation with the current squad..... Hopefully a few games with a settled Midfield 3 of Winks, GLC and NDombele will bring the best from all 3

I think the signing of Bergwijn proved itself yesterday. Not because he scored but actually Son & Lucas cannot play all game every game, there needs to be rest rotation and competition in these places.

The ability to then bring on a Lamela, allowing us to keep the ball a bit more shows up front at least we have some very good options.

We need a few players in key positions but we need in the first instance to rebuild confidence, to build from a solid base and then become feared. Recently we've been an easy touch and teams know how to punish us.

I look forward to NDombele's progress. If as a team we start to play 10m further up the pitch than we did yesterday then NDombele can make all the difference, playing in the opponents half where his skills are best suited.

Diamond

A midfield of GLC, Winks and Ndombele excites me very much.

There was a stat going round that Winks is the most forward passing midfielder in Europe or something.

A good second half performance, but the question as always is, will we build on it?

Seen far too many false dawns.

Fair play to Winks. Still learning his trade and needs to be more consistent

He's OK...... I like him going forward but he's still a liability defending & i can see periods of him being suspended. I still think we are FB short with Davies injured, Sess unconvincing at this level & Rose gone. Thankfully Tanganga has proved his versatility across the back 4 !! (top man)

No, he isn’t fine, he’s an utter liability and that is demonstrated game after game after game. Obviously the transfer window is shut now so we’ll just have to make do, hope for the best and pray be engages his brain in future.

As I say I hope he does mate. The thing is when they are on the pitch, I always give them my support 100 per cent.

Tangana played well yesterday, although I still think CB is his best position. Left back is up for grabs, and I think Jose may bring one in.

Signing priority list:

1. LB
2. FWD
3. CM
4. CB
5. RB

Assuming that the loanees stay gone (KWP/Rose), then really it's just Wanyama surplus. Not sure about Foyth. Always liked him but not sure he's Jose's sort of defender.

May be come the summer we lose Foyth, Vertonghen, Rose, KWP, Wanyama, Dier (Say £50m) and address the short comings in the squad. However, even with £50m made, even another £50m on top is not going to get top quality in those positions. 1 quality CB could cost £50m.

Amazing yesterday to see City's bench with Jesus (£30m) Cancelo (£60m) B.SIlva (£43m) while Stones (£50m) Mendy (£52m) Laporte (£57m) and Sane (£37m) were not fit or not picked.

No point in trying to compete moneywise with City mate, they have a State funding them.

I’m most pleased about Lo Celso to be honest, thought for a moment Jose didn’t really fancy him, especially after that missed goal the other week.

posted on 3/2/20

Lo Celso is starting to settle nicely was starting to show his range of passing towards the end of the game as well. An all action midfielder. Mourinho should love him.

posted on 3/2/20

Aurier hasmistakes in him but he made some important blocks/tackles yesterday. In fact I think he has the most tackles this season of all our defenders.

Sanchez who is also prone to sloppy ness also made some crucial blocks and tackles yesterday.

Both are a bit raw but the stick they get is a bit unfair sometimes. Vertonghen has been much poorer consistently this season but doesn’t get as much stick, maybe because he’s performed in the past.

Tanganga has been superb all things considered. He’s been thrown in all over the back 4 and hasn’t looked out of place.
