The irony of Liverpool fans who don't go to games mocking City fans who go to games for their attendance.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
how did ManU get on in the FA Cup 1999/2000.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Won it 99, don't really care about 00.

He's not a City fan.

I don't think real City fans will appreciate him masquerading as one of them.

Couple of points...

Fair play to Klopp sticking to his principles
Fair play to Pool fans selling out the game with the kids out
Hope Shrewsbury win

I'm done

Typical reply, your only care when your winning you'll have a long wait in the coming seasons then

Our team has looked tired over previous games; they need a rest, and the boss has given them the break.

All sanctioned, encouraged, even, by the FA/PL. Jurgen has made a stand, no surprises there, he ain’t gonna be there for the game. Our holy grail could be six games away; nothing else matters.

Really silly TBH.

OP needs to understand how the gate is actually shared.

The FA take a fee from each game's gate receipts to pay for prize money. For the Third to sixth rounds of the FA Cup, 10% is taken from net gate receipts and added to the pool, leaving both clubs with 45% of net gate receipts (42.5% for replays)

So The reality is it doesn't matter who actually plays the ticket prices were always going to be reduced

https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/tickets/384669-liverpool-v-shrewsbury-town-fa-cup-replay-ticket-details

There is a clear ticketing price for each domestic cup opponent type. As shrewsbury are league 1, had the original tie been at anfield we would have charged 30 quid for a main stand ticket.

People deliberately IGNORE the fact that this tier structure for domestic cups is announced prior to the season starting so a Liverpool V everton 3rd round cup tie would be a different price to a Liverpool v non league fa cup 3rd round. This is done to ensure sell outs and has been done for years.

I have seen that many "rags" like the daily fail are ignoring this fact

For this replay we have basically given tickets at half the price again.

What people dont want to admit is the last time we had a replay (Plymouth) we also had low ticket prices for fans going away at 20 quid.

In short... guess what NON STORY. beat up on Liverpool if you can type headlines that we are going to stave poor shrewsbury and we are the worst in the world.

the actual truth is a sliding scale for cup ties exists. if we play a league 1 side the cost is different. If theres a replay we give the fans a little back by lowering the price. How terrible of us.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You need to understand that I never mentioned ticket prices at any point, only that less people may attend the match, which results in less revenue than a full house.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
so it's sold out so non story. the end.

close the article.

Is this Liverpool team so weak physically and mentally that they cannot compete in more than one competition? When we won the treble in 99 we won the treble by winning the treble. That means winning the 3 top competitions in the world. Liverpool wants to be compared with us but can't even get past the 1st round in the cups.

Even our 2016/2017 treble winning side was more impressive than this Liverpool side which is a one competition pony.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Which competition is our pony? By my count we have won the CL, the super cup, and the club world cup in the last 12 months. We are almost nailed in for the league. Pick any 3 of those tournaments and it is more impressive than your 16/17 "treble" (even though the community shield is not a competitive game).

Frederic only supports ManU when they win, run of the mill I suppose.

also, shrewsbury owner's have already pointed out that in getting a game against the reigning world and European champions, and now having earnt a replay, has raised their profile so significantly that their shirt sales have already shown a 75% increase.
doesn't seem like shrewsbury are missing out on much financially even if we don't play our first team tonight.

Shirt sales. The revenue myth. Most proceedings go to the shirt manufacturer.

Shrewsbury manager Sam Ricketts speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: “We’re going to generate some money from this but nowhere near what it could’ve been if it had been different circumstances.
-------------------------------------------------
Why is he saying that if its sold out? According to Liverpool fans on here the prices would have been reduced anyway. So if its sold out, Shrewsbury are getting the same as when the 1st team would have played, no?

posted on 4/2/20

yep, but not as much as if the FA hadn't thrown their toys out the pram and blocked anyone from televising the game anywhere.

As a poster you've not earned that right. Who decides when it's time for wumming or serious debate? You? You want to eum when you feel like and be serious when you feel like without considering others.

Fack off no mark. You live by the sword, you die by the sword.

So you dont understand how seasons work? Every season is actually over 2 years - so when asked how you got on in the 1999/2000 season, it doesnt mean the end of the 1998/99 season AND the end of the 1999/2000 season - it mean the season that started in 1999 and ended in 2000! Hope that helps you to answer the question more accurately
