I'm not expecting a lot returning from such a long layout but glad to see him back in action.

Hopefully he gets through the development games etc all OK and then maybe we can see him in the 1st team soon. He'll definitely add some presence to the side and goals from midfield as this has been an issue in recent games.

What was the score Brum? I might have to avoid going home.

I'm dying to see how Frank utilizes him. On paper he doesn't really fit the profile of what he'd want if he plays the same role he did for Sarri - both Kovacic & Mount would be preferred in both the 433 & 4231.

I'm looking forward to seeing what he does, cos I've no doubt he will incorporate him somehow.

His composure in front of goal could prove very important if he can regain some form after injury.

No more setbacks will do.

Come through the next couple of development matches unscathed and good chance he replaces Barkley in first-team matchday squad permanently.

I think that he should be brought back very slowly. Let him play quite a few of these U23 games first and see how he goes and how his body reacts.

Admittedly not the normal approach but he's a special case. As much as we desperately need him in this team for some much needed creativity and drive I'd hate to see him brought back too soon only to get injured again.

What really boils my piŝŝ about how long he's been out, is the game he got his injury in.

That game should either not have gone ahead before a cup final we always had the potential to be involved in, or we should have played the youth team.

Boils my plss too Flash. A friendly at that point in the season was absurd, right before a European Cup Final.

Would Pool or City have done that ? No way Klopp would have agreed to put out a full strength team in that game or anything even close to one if he'd been forced to play it.
