Kiko should never play again for club

The thing is, Rev. It's not like our goal gets bombarded in games. Kiko never really has all that much to do, he just always does at least one of the things he does badly.

The whole of Elland Road chanted Kiko after an Alioski goal a few months back. He was making ridiculous saves that were winning us games.

Now he’s costing us points with stupid mistakes that he is more than capable of dealing with.

I’m not surprised opinions have changed.

But when 35000 fans are chanting his name after a goal he didn’t score. I don’t think Matty is the only one that likes him then. I have never seen anything like it before. He was brilliant for us until Cardiff
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He made a great save at udders I think, most of the rest were decent/regulation... just a pleasant upgrade from last season. There were still clangers (charlton) in between but he was decent to about November. The amount of points he’s cost us since then is shocking. And it would have been worse if we hadn’t bailed him out at Birmingham. It’s howlers every game. Every game. And our replacement is a 19 year old with 1 first team game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Meslier has a fair bit of first team experience, no? We signed him because he did well with Lorient in Ligue 2. I get it's not a high quality and playing for Leeds is different, but to make out that he has no professional experience is incorrect.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sure... should have qualified i meant 1 game for us. Point being, just a kid, no experience of the league, the crowds, the pressure. If they had confidence of him being ready, they’d have blooded him by now surely? How many mistakes does a guy get to make?

Hey his distribution was great and he looked a confident kid against Arsenal. Like everyone I’m hoping he’s ready.

LOrient played in front of less than 8k when he was in goal in French L2 He's now going to be expected to perform in front of 34k+ in an intense stadium, with expectant fans (who will back him to be fair), at the business end of a season in a notoriously tough league. It's just not comparable.

Fingers crossed he's great, first signs against Arsenal were that he looks useful. My point is we shouldn't be consigning Kiko to a dustbin, he needs to be rested, not binned - we may need him before seasons end.

A 34k stadium that he has already experienced the atmosphere of for basically six months. And he made his debut for us at a 60k stadium. Don't think that's much of a point personally.

All great goalkeepers were inexperienced at one point or another.

It's different experiencing it from the bench than between the sticks.

Your last point is spot on and true. Lets hope, if selected (as i'm not 100% convinced he will be yet), that he allays any concerns I may have.

And that's why, he should have been th default keeper for the cups OR we should have retained our experienced keeper or brought another experienced keeper in.

I was not happy about Meslier coming in, but after Arsenal match have no qualms now.

If we are going to drop Kiko, it HAS to be next game or never. I think Bielsa will stick to Kiko and that's respectable.

**** sake why can’t people understand opinions on players can change

Players lose form, it happens.

Kiko was playing well, to pass that off and say I told you so is pathetic. Anyone defending Kiko earlier in the season was well within rights because he was playing well. Simple
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The the comments should have been written as “he’s the best gk in the league on current form”. Even that statement would be far fetched but at least it’s debatable.

Cost us promotion last season
Costing us promotion this season on current form

Carl. If you are being sympathetic it’s a one off lack of concentration. Brentford had 3 forwards albeit some way off him all running forwards at same time. We are always at risk of this happening and let’s be honest how many times as a defender passed the back sideward s straight to the opposition and we have got away with it. Gk last line means errors are magnified. It’s his first major mistake with his feet and therefore you wouldn’t expect him to do it again any time soon. Luke ayling did the exact same thing 10 minutes later letting them ball under his foot from a sidewards pass but nobody was near enough to him capitalise.

However in terms of the players overall form that’s the main issue here. Lost count of the number of goals he’s gifted now. He’s getting close to being on a par with Felix now. His name came up in our house at half time and we laughed at the goal I think v qpr when it bounced over his head into the goal. 5 minutes later the ball bounced Over Kiko head and he very nearly fell over and gifted another.

All great players were inexperienced at one point. So we’re all average players. In an ideal world you choose your moment to find out. We no longer get to choose it’s forced on us.

BPF was man of the match In a number of his first games for us but he was inexperienced and made mistakes too.

My personal opinion is we should have insured with a more experienced keeper on loan in jan. To give options if meslier under-performed. That’s my point, we should have dropped our keeper by now, we all know that. He’s made far more mistakes and cost more points than BPF did before he was dropped. But we haven’t.

LIW.. totally over the top 'should never play for us again'

Personally for me, last night's mistake wasn't as bad as the Forest near post goal.

If you are wanting your keeper to play like a footballer, then this is going to happen.. I noticed Ayling and Harrison did the same thing on multiple occasions but further up the pitch so no issue.

Think Kiko should be dropped, but has nothing to do with last night for me. He must of had millions of balls played at him throughout the season, but only one mistake.

defo time for him to sit out though.
