Lambeau, Poch never had any real say in who Spurs brought in. That’s part of why he was so aggrieved last summer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He must've had some say... A transfer freeze last year, fair enough, but Poch did sign a lot of players. I don't accept that he didn't have a say.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Did he not make a big point in regard to this about only being the head coach, that he had no input into the deals.

I may be wrong but that rings a bell.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

In the context of not knowing if the club would be signing/selling anyone, yes. But that's not the same as having no involvement in actual signings. He was disgruntled that Levy had tightened the purse strings in that particular period of time. That's completely different to saying he had no say in who Spurs actually brought in when Levy was happy to spend.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Perhaps, but what Danny Rose said yesterday about who is in real control of the club might point towards the truth of the matter.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Alright...spill the beans.

Facking hell, at least four more months of this

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Joking aside Rosso, I’m surprised you’re not more behind the idea of Poch at the club. Isn’t he exactly what you would want? A guy who can build us from the ground up and who does well with youth?

As a Spurs fan, I 100% believe that Poch with proper backing (which he'd get at United) would be a fantastic success.... He simply got stale at Spurs, having dealt with Lecy, the new Stadium and trying to overcome a bottlers mentality without support..... it sadly wasn't a massive surprise.

If United dither out of some foolish loyalty to OGS and miss out on Poch, it will be another mistake to add to many others. Given the fact none of you trust Ed, why back him in his support of a "manager" who's clearly out of his depth
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You’re preaching to the converted 👍

He’s a superb coach with a clearly defined style of play and has experience in getting the best out of non world class players (Kane is world class but that happened under his watch).

When supporters of every other club aren’t even wumming when they say we should appoint him it says something. Rarely are things so obvious. Which means of course Ed won’t do it 😂
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hahaha........ Its almost too obvious. Frustration for us is that for the past 4 years we were so close. We had the manager, the core group players, the youth set up and all we were missing was the financial backing for a couple of key signings to take us to the next level.... You guys have everything and the PERFECT manager to get you back to where you wanna be, waiting to be hired..... You've turned into a basket case club (with all due respect)

I do think Ed likes Poch so hopefully we can move soon.

If we lose to Chelsea on Monday I think the race for top 4 will probably be over. Will be interesting to see how the club proceed with Poch

Theres an interesting story doing the rounds that Poch & Levy are still close and Levy hasn't ruled out Poch being back at the club at some point. It crushed us that it ended the way it did BUT if the new stadium is the cash cow most expect in the next couple of years I think Levy would happily hire him again and back him in the manner he simply couldn't first time around

best manager in the world at the moment if we get him. Overrated and hasn't won a trophy in his managerial career if we don't.
I don't know who he is.

Hahaha...... wouldn't be the first time !!!! Right now I'll just take dull football, a cheery Jose and hopefully a trophy. Sometimes you gotta make a tough decision to move forward. I might not like Jose much but in the long term I'll take him all day to get this Spurs side into the top 4.... Especially when you look at the likes of Lampard, Arteta, OGS and Wolves & Sheff United not quite there yet

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I can only go on what he said..

“I am not in charge of this. I know nothing about the situation of my players, I am only coaching them, trying to get the best from them.

“Things that may or may not happen — sell or buy players, extend contracts or not extend contracts — it’s not in my hands, it’s in the club’s hands and in Daniel Levy’s hands.

Perhaps he had a little bit more involvement than he’s saying but I’d say Levy would be more to blame than Poch going by his record as an absolute cant
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He was being asked about potential signings and sales and he answered that it was up to Levy to complete the deals, which it is.

Taken out of context though, I can see why you read that quote the way you did.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He made a huge point off referring to himself as a coach rather than a manager

If anyone comes in that someone rates and doesn’t do well people are free to accept their mistakes.

It would be weird if someone didn’t 🤔

Should of employed ancelotti but id gladly take poch.

I don’t think anyone will ever (anytime soon) get us back to SAF levels but I think Poch is leagues ahead of anyone else right now in rebuilding this club to an acceptable level.

posted on 12/2/20

Poch would be the frst coach post SAF that i would be confident would improve players and our style of play. Sadly it seems too obvious a move for United to do it

based on what though Robb?

yeah he made the CL final and thats a great achievment.

but spurs have a better midfield, better forward line and at that point probably a better defence, yet he has still never challenged when it comes to pushing for the league.

hey if he comes in i'll back him, i just dont think he will do the job you think he will

Klopp and Pep are winning champs leagues and doubles, back to back titles so no reason the right manager couldnt donthat with United. They just wouldn't have the longevity of SAF
