13 to go

Over the past 11 seasons the

Average points of championship champions was 93.5 points
Average points of championship runners up was 88.0 points
Average points of championship 6th place was 74.1 points

90 points in all seasons guaranteed automatic promotion.

Looks like it will be less than the average needed this season for autos, but more needed for the playoffs.

On paper our fixtures look easy. But considering we’ve recently lost to Sheff W, Wigan, QPR - I’m giving up with predications.

Next 4 games are winnable. Even 10 points in these games( with Fulham being next game) will be huge.

Reading H
Boro A
Hull A
Hudds H

Its a cliche but take one game at a time.

Don't like looking at the league like this. Take one game at a time and concentrate on three points.

Just looked at the fixtures for the next six games.

Apart from us, the other teams are all playing against each other nearly every game.

It’s going to be utter carnage.

Third place points will be lowest for ages

Reading will be tough, more so than Bristol C imo. Boro, Hull and Hudds don't have much to play for, so should get a decent chunk of points in those. Going to be cracking run in with 4/5 teams all charging for 2 places.

10 wins would guarantee us promotion nearly every year, but it should be lower this season though and realistically we won't win 10 games in 13. Very unlikely that any of the teams below us would put together a run like that either.

We finished 3rd on 83 points last season so 84 would have been enough for Sheff Utd (who got 89 in the end). I reckon a similiar amount would be enough this season. 8 wins would probably do it.

I get your point Shaun but Hull Boro and Doggy Botherers all hate us.

I share your optimism but they will always raise thr roof for us

Boro and Huddersfield are still staving off relegation. They absolutely do have something to play for.

I think the 'having nothing to play for' thing only makes an impact in the last few games. League is always so tight that everyone is fighting for something

Reading beat Sheff Wed 3-0 away. Won't be easy.

Wednesday had a player sent off and there is trouble in't' dressing room. Monk can be his own worst enemy sometimes.

i hate it when teams have nothing to play for.
let's them relax and just play the game. no pressure means less potential errors.

I think this is the strongest Championship ever. No runaway leader yet and so many teams still in with a chance of automatic promotion. Therefore you may not need as many wins as you think.

It really isn't the strongest. It's so close because it's so poor. But you're right that it may not need a massive points total for promotion.

Wednesday are on a dreadful run. 1 win in 10. Guess who that was against? They looked dreadful yesterday from what I saw.

They have a few very handy players, but it's the sort of game we have to win if we want to get promoted.

Well you'd probably know more than me. I always keep any eye on results and the table but don't watch a whole lot of games. Perhaps it's not the strongest but one of the most competitive.

Wherever Monk goes he seems to create trouble in the end. Monk should join a Monastery to calm his nerves !!!

If we can beat Reading I think we come be on our way up.
