Ramage has been appointed as a special adviser to Boris Johnson.

Seriously he has now been sacked by the BBC.

Cue for all the gammon to talk about political correctness gone mad.

He was sacked on Saturday night Spart.

posted on 18/2/20

Was it official then? Instant dismissal is only legal in cases of gross misconduct.

posted on 18/2/20

Ramage is a freelance journalist. Radio Derby said they won’t be working with him anymore. So not technically sacked.

posted on 18/2/20

Ramage is not on a permanent contract. Dismissal restrictions to not apply to him. Rather being like summarily dismissed at the end of a shift if you an agency worker. No employment rights.

That's what I thought, but things only seem to go one way in these matters.

“One way”, VC? Which way is that?

You fail to understand that racism is not about race but about power. Read Gramsci on hegemony if you wish to find out more.

Basically racism can only be directed from those in the power group to those not. For example it didn't matter if the black people in the deep south didn't like the white people they weren't in a position to discriminate against them. Similarly the white settlers in Mugabe's Zimbabawe were powerless but the boot was then on the other foot.

This is what that second rate actor on Question time failed to understand. He is a bit like Strett, very little understanding of anything but an opinion on everything. Gammon was just an insult to counter the snowflake insult at younger people and has nothing to do with racism as most who use it are of the same race as the gammon.

The term ‘gammon’ is now frequently entering the lexicon of so many (mainly on the left).
This is a term (like it or not) based on skin colour and age – stereotyping by colour or age is wrong no matter what race, age or community.

Well when the gammon stop insulting everyone not of their group then I will stop using the term. Strange that they liberally use the word snowflake as an insult but then object at a similar insult aimed at them. Gammon is basically aimed at lower middle class, middle aged males of a right wing political persuasion. The fact that this group is dominated by people with northern European genes is incidental other than their tendency to turn pink when talking about those not of the same genetic profile.

One thing that surely is up for questioning is whether name-calling based on someone’s appearance, politics or opinion; is where this new 'enlightened' culture, wishes to be.

If the progressive project tries to challenge speech on civility boundaries, then using schoolyard language is a bit of an own goal, Spart.

The Gammon are getting there way though.

These backward thinking Neanderthals are driving England into isolation.

Perhaps that's the utopia. England for the white English pure blood Anglo-Saxon invaders.

Spart - you need to read a wider range of books, starting with a dictionary.

Discrimination is defined as "Treatment or consideration based on class or category, such as race or gender, rather than individual merit; partiality or prejudice."

Discrimination goes both ways, regardless of who is "in the power group" - whatever that means?

Hitler discriminated against the Jews because, in large part, he felt they had too much financial power.

From the Anne Frank house web site ..."According to Hitler, the Jews were after world dominance. And they would not hesitate to use all possible means, including capitalism. In this way, Hitler took advantage of the existing prejudice that linked the Jews to monetary power and financial gain."

At the other extreme, in that "wonderful" "comedy" Love thy Neighbour, both the black and the white protagonists discriminated against each other to equal effect. There was no "power group" involved, just old fashioned bigotry.

To quote Rudolph Walker, who played Bill Reynolds, and who wrote for The Guardian in 2001, "it is about a black guy and a white guy being damned stupid".

Which, in my humble opinion, sums up each and every sort of discrimination, including Craig Ramage's.

There are a great many "stupid" people around, of every creed and colour.

So Peeder, tell me how black slaves discriminated against white slave owners. Discrimination only ever acts one way.

Love thy neighbour. Tell me a white person ever upset by being called a honky.
I rest my case.

If you are going to call people Neanderthals you really should learn to distinguish between there and their.

I wonder if you have noticed the appearance of the Home Secretary and the Chancellor and several Tory MPs?

But of course Rameses, it was a slip on your part to put there, just like poor old Ramma slipped up on Saturday.

He made a mistake and had apologised. I wish Wisdom hadn't got injured, it would have saved all this nonsense.

Complete and utter cr4p.

Have you ever been to an old firm game? Or Ireland? Just as an example. Religious discrimination from both sides.

Or parts of the old Yugoslavia? Or parts of Africa? Or pretty much anywhere in the world where 2 "factions" want the other out of the way for political, economic, racial religious or whatever reason. There is so much 2 way discrimination that to suggest it can only be in 1 direction is madness.
