“We don't sign players with disloyal personality traits”

What were you lot saying about James Milner?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's just a greedy rat. Not disloyal.
He honoured his contract with City.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And Aguero, Silva and Toure signed because of the prestige of the club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Probably thought they were signing for United

Yeah we're badly run, but no more so than City. And at least we don't have to cheat to win trophies. Have fun celebrating when your "well run club" loses all the trophies they cheated for
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ouch.

Never got the hate some reds have for raheem
———————
I do. When sterling left Liverpool he was a good but not necessary elite player. When suarez etc left Liverpool it hurt but they could take it because of those guys decided they were too good for Liverpool and moved on, it wasn’t so bad because of how good they were.

When sterling, a level below someone like suarez at the time decided he was too good for Liverpool and wanted a step up, that was a big hit to the ego for a lot of Liverpool former players like carragher etc. It really highlighted how far the club had fallen that a player like sterling (at the time) thought he was too good for Liverpool and wanted a step up. That was where the hate came from

The Liverpool fans are more interested in this ban than United fans. Can’t get my heard round it given there is no rivalry between the two clubs.

posted on 17/2/20

No traditional rivalry maybe but it's grown for sure plus in the context of 606 with LQ, Boris and Mancini you have three fans who are obnoxious and write stupid things.

And what has happened since.
Sterling has reverted to what he was, and Liverpool are dominating domestic, European and World football. 😂😂😂

7 Months of domination.

Yep it's great. Maybe City will experience it someday once they've climbed back up the football pyramid.

Domestic domination?

We look forward to meeting you in the Lague Cup Final in a couple of weeks time.

Maybe we can get revenge for you beating us in the Community Shield.

I don't think that was it. Many felt he moved for money, I think that was the sole reason, along with the fact people aren't happy to lose any of their best players anyhow.

That wasn't how I felt. I simply felt he moved to the club who was a better option at the time, having become our main hope for goals at just 20, playing as a lone striker, after the sale of Suarez and Sturridge's injury and Balotelli being crap. Players with no affiliation to the club will leave when things are bad for better options. It's normal. Whereas the likes of Gerrard will stay, Torres, Mascherano, Suarez will leave. It's normal. Of course that currently isn't the case but it was then.

It is weird though. Expected a fair bit of banter about it from United. But it’s literally all Liverpool at the moment, and you can tell me it’s because three posters have rubbed a few of u up the wrong way.

Maybe not exactly how I described but there was some weird ego aspect to it.

If Sterling had been a few years younger, Carragher would probably have spat in his face.

I used to like City as well.

Imagine being the Lance Armstrong of football.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Be honest - you only like then because we were an easy 3 points for you home or away.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That will probably be the case once again when your best players leave to play European football.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry to disappoint you. We don't sign plastics like you lot - Coutinho, Suarez etc.
Our players will stay with or with no CL.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes when Aguero, Silva, De Bruyne etc leave at the end of the season, that will sure prove that point. We should pick up a couple from the sinking ship.

I'd take De Bruyne, Foden and Bernardo Silva. Perhaps Laporte for backup to VVD and Ederson for backup to Alisson. Would be good to see Sterling back but we have a better player in Mane and Sterling wouldn't like sitting on the bench most weeks.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We don't sign players with disloyal personality traits.
Aguero, David Silva, Yaya Toure etc all joined before we even played CL football.
If players can go to China because of money, they will remain at City regardless of whether we play CL or not.
Remember, Etihad deal accounts for less than 10% of our gross revenue. And am pretty sure we can get more than £40m if that bid goes public today.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You know you signed Raheem Sterling right?

To be honest Sterling can say he's gonna stay but he may well know the club cant afford to keep him with restricted budgets. The club sells he can say well it's the club's decision, win win for him and his agent.
