Any way this can be extended to Leicester being stripped of their 2016 title?

The titles in italy are recorded as follows

2004/05 - no title awarded. Milan still second and title stipped form Juventus

2005/06 - juventus finished 1st but as the title had not been awarded prior to procedings Inter were dcalred champions that year.

So in truth if city lost all 4 titles the record books would be changed to read no title award IMO
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's a little more complicated. The 04-05 title would have gone to Milan but they were also implicated in the scandal and so it was not possible to award it to the runners up.

In 05-06 the runners up were Inter, who were not implicated in the scandal and so they were awarded the title.

If the premier league decided to follow this precedent then Liverpool would likely be awarded the title.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It appears I was wrong (stupid wiki). Milan were 2and in 06 as well but were deducted 30 points. I am not sure why the 06 title was awarded to inter but the 05 title wasn't. The decision was made in July 06 so it was after the season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I belive it was because they hadn't awarded the trophy yet

Maybe they should just start with a 20 point deduction next season. Should even it out for the advantage they have of not competing in europe. If guilty a strong stance needs to be made that they benefit in no way next season.

They had. There are pictures of Juve lifting the trophy.

Why would you want that? That would mean the team nailed on for second place, Spurs, would then be crowned....ah oh hang on...erm awkward.

We actually finished the 2017/2018 season on 81 points so as well as winning the 2017/2018 title, we should also be given the 2015/2016 title because we got 81 points which is more than the 78 points Leicester got in their "title winning" season, making us champions 2015/2016 as well as 2017/2018. That coupled with our treble win in 2016/2017 it has been a pretty damn successful period for us.

Actually should be given to Man Utd. Think about it. If Man City had been disqualified from the cup, we would have had their ball number in the draw, meaning we got their easy draw to the final and then obviously we would have easily beaten Watford in the final.

Fair point, they should play for 3 points and the FA Cup on Sunday.

It's 2-0 to Watford on Agg in this two legged league/2019 FA Cup final.

It's a cup game so home goals only count half. So it's 1-0 to Watford.

Just wanted to pay my respects to Harry Gregg.

I have absolutely no idea how good or bad he was as a keeper but anybody who runs INTO a burning plane to save other lives is a real hero.

Well played sir....

If their titles were taken away, it is so Spursy that we came 2nd to Chelsea

Us United fans have PL trophies bursting out of our hallway cupboards anway. Any more and they would be taking up room in the hallway itself so happy to just have an * instead of less space in my flat.

No titles should be awarded to other clubs but they should be demoted to League 1 or 2

Having the agueroooooooo moment shoved up their jackseys, brilliant, could only happen to the berties, they are unique, they have cornered the market in embarrassment

City should be allowed to keep their titles regardless. The players had nothing to do with it and they won it fair and square.

Besides it would otherwise deprive us of two of the greatest memories of the decade - Aguerooooo and Gerrard's slip. It would rob Mourinho and Demba Ba of their greatest achievements of this decade

That would be equally hilarious.

The teams who finished second should get the rewards. Unfair on the players, coaching staff and fans, yes but it was also unfair on the opposition players, coaching staff and fans when City cheated.

Of course it wouldn't feel the same but fair's fair.

Mourinho's would be cancelled out as he'd win a title with a crap United squad.

This would be a bit stupid. Im not sure why anyone would feel much joy in us being awarded the 2012 and 2018 titles now.

Just relegate them to league 2 instead.

The problem lies with the fact that money was used on players, managers etc...

I don't think anyone should be awarded the titles.

It should either still be City but with an *

or

No title awarded as mentioned above.

Out of interest though what happened in Italy when Juve were stripped of theirs? Did the second place teams get awarded them retrospectively?
