Why? We finish 6th in his first season and look at his signings ...

Zlatan
Lukaku
Sanchez
Mkhitaryan
...have left

Matic
Pogba
..leaving

Dalot
Bailly
Lindelof
...not good enough

Only Fred from all his signings has actually looked decent. The rest were absolutely shocking.

Ole's record against top 7 is excellent - only pool spectacular season lies above us

If he could only fix his appalling record against bottom teams he could be taken seriously - only if

Oles tactical approach against the top six has been to defend maximum and counter attack even at OT
Whereas other managers tried to install a play approach Of what United is about attack the opposition and dominate at home
Ole tends to play not to lose against top teams and hasn’t got clue when his side plays lesser sides

LvG also had a very good record against top teams. And in most of those games we played on the front foot...

Replace the word Ole with Jose and you’re sorted.

They've all been awful appointments.

That is all.

Jose’s second season contained our best post SAF record against the top 6 sides - and that was when they were good unlike this season

Yes, but some people in here have a hidden agenda against Jose, and it's laughable to say the least.

Yet, Jose brought them success but for various reasons they prefer to forget that.

Tbf, whatever you think of Jose, that is the blueprint for how Ole plays against the bigger sides

Jose did what everyone knew Jose would do. He brought a little bit of success, created absolute turmoil, then left the club in a worse mess than when he came.

Qualified for the champs league in both his full seasons and delivered 2 pieces of silverware. Plus he brought through McTominay.

The best since SAF no doubt

We also beat every one of the sides we played at least once.

Played 10
Won 6
Drew 1
Lost 3

Does LVG’s record match up to that in either season?

Jose had to clean up the mess left behind by LVG

Rooney in midfield? 😂
Bastian and Morgan? 😂
Kids as strikers? 😂
Sideways boring football and no CL? 😂

Took us to 81 points and did what LVG couldn’t do - take us out of the CL group stage (twice) and win a European trophy. Sadly we’ve gone backwards since sacking him.

I think he beat everyone once in each season

Not sure... Can't be ar*ed counting points this early

I know he didn't lose 3 tho... Regardless... Its not results against the top 6 that cost lvg or jose their jobs

And its not the reason ole is struggling

I agree - just responding to the person who said that LVG was better because of his big game record. He never once beat Chelsea in a league game weirdly.

😂 I’m fine. I just like to keep the debate fair. People go on about LVG as this saint who just needed one more season and speak about Jose as this guy who left a huge mess.

We both know that those two situations aren’t quite true
