No Ronnie (although self inflicted) is ridiculous.
In any sport the previous winner of a competition should qualify automatically to defend the title.
And he's 5th on the proper 2 year list too... Crazy 🤔
I do agree that the defending champion should be able to defend the title in majority of events. However everyone knows the rules. Ronnie has no one to blame but himself. If he played in 2-3 more ranking events this season he would have been fine.
Hopefully he's saving himself for the Worlds, he's due a run....
6-5 win for Maguire, was a good game, Ding was 4-2 up at one stage winning 4 frames in a row.

Higgins beats Dott 6-2. Neil was 5-1 down and pulled it back to trailing 5-4. Get the feeling he is going to win from here.
Bottom half of the draw looks quite open.
With Neil Robertson out it has certainly opened up the bottom half of the draw.
6-3 win for Judd Trump, Yan Bingtao also beats Kyren Wilson 6-2. Judd Trump plays John Higgins tomorrow night, that will be a tough game.

I obviously want Judd Trump to win but if not then the likes of Yan Bingtao, Shaun Murphy, Joe Perry, David Gilbert, Un- Nooh
Shaun Murphy wins 6-5. Mark Allen wins 6-3.
Judd Trump wins 6-3 not a great performance and the standard of match wasn't great to be honest but sometimes you just have to dig in to win matches.

Likely to be Selby in next round unless Maguire beats him.

He potted some crazy shots last night, when it looked like Higgins was in a relatively safe position as well.
When he's good he's on fire Stephen Maguire. 3-0 lead so far. Is there any way back for Selby?
