don't think he has touched the ball since

True, Aubamayang has only had a couple of touches too. Scored with both of them.

buzzing for eddie. his goals for us could be crucial to the season, hope he has a good future, really like the lad. But can we move on now.

Just hit crossbar with another great effort.

Truth is, Bielsa left a Prem level striker on the bench
when his start-at-all-costs striker couldn't hit a pig's
arse with a banjo. People need to understand that.

I think it is more about Bielsa. He prefers players who can adapt to his ideas of how the team should play, rather than accommodating the individuality of players who think or play differently. I was looking at Saiz against Derby last season when we won 4-1. What a player! But we couldn't manage that talent and he left. And there is a list of players with talent, character and individuality who have followed suit. Even Wilks, who is looking like a talent at Hull these days. It's a strength and a weakness in Bielsa's approach, I think. Players know where they stand in the pecking order, but if you step out of line, the team cannot accommodate you.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think you're confusing talent, individuality and attitude.

We seem to accommodate Pablo ok.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think Pablo is one of those players who can adapt and play well in any system. He's unique.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And he doesn't have 'attitude'.

You need to understand that Bielsa transformed a mid table squad to top 3 with very few additions and you want to change everything that made that happen to accommodate a striker.

Do you think sacrificing dominance of games to have Eddie play would have us higher in the league than second?

So let’s accommodate bamford then? Even when we had won 2/11 games, people would still say bamford is good for the system we play.

Fact is bielsa rated Eddie. Bamford was in good form
And unfortunately for Eddie he got injured at the wrong time. Bielsa press conferences since he left speak volumes of what he thought about Eddie... some of the BS on here is bizarre.

I've just watched this game and Nketiah was pretty much a passenger throughout. He got his goal, which he did well for us too but he's got to offer more as a lone striker.

Silly thing is he could very well have been first choice by now if he had stayed at Leeds. Bielsa was going to start him for at least 3 games when Bamford was this much off form but he got injured.

you guys are hilarious. he got an open net tap in not a wonder strike. get over it he wasn't any good for us.

You mean his comments about Eddie finally being ready when Arsenal took him back?

He might have been but we don’t know that. I’m talking about the performances I saw when Bielsa is saying he wasn’t ready. I agree with him

Love all the Bielsa Mini-Mes on here. Regurgitate what
Messiah says as if it was their own idea. Laughable.

God help us if we do go up. Because if only Bamford works for Bielsa, we'll be straight back down.

I like Eddie. Think he’s a good striker and can definitely see why he is playing for Arsenal. It was a quality finish today that Bamford wouldn’t have taken.

All reasons why he should have started more games for us. But outweighed by the fact that when he played for us, from the bench or start, we were a worse side than when Bamford was on the pitch. That’s a massive negative and a huge hurdle to overcome when arguing for his case.

Now Bielsa saying he was finally ready makes it very frustrating that Arsenal took him back. We now have to work with another player to get him ready instead. And if Eddie was ready to take play his role then his finishing would be invaluable in this side. Unfortunately we just have to take Bielsa’s word for it that he was ready.

Can’t respond to question so talk rubbish. No one thinks Bamford is the only one that works for Bielsa. For a start Roofe did. Roberts did too.

Have you watched the games Eddie played for us and did it work?

watched the game batty. he didn't touch the ball until the 25 minute. good goal from an inch perfect cross though. don't agree with everything bielsa does but he's more likely right than us when we disagree.

I'm sure you were on the matchday thread when Eddie started v WBA away. It was clear as day why he was pulled at HT for Bamford.

I think he may well have come good, but it's obvious why Bamford was ahead in the pecking order.

If being a Bielsa mini-me means I'm basing my opinion on what I actually see rather than a revisionist view of Eddie's performances for us then count me in.

Bielsa was clear in presser about Eddie, unfortunately his translator was not clear.

Bielsa was getting Eddie ready for second half of season and was angry that Arsenal pulled him after we've done all the work on getting player fit and developing the player.

Unfortunately neither Bamford nor Eddie fit Bielsa's system perfectly, but Bamford's our player, Eddie was the loanee, it was always going to be Bamford starting first, same as it will be re Augustin.

Really? The idea that Bielsa won't play loanees ahead of contracted players patently isn't true. We start every game with at least two.

"I'd bet that those of us here that cant play football any more would have more of a chance of scoring in Arsenals team then in Leeds!..

We found out to our cost 2nd half at their place how to rip a defence a new one!..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hate to disappoint you but I don't see you getting picked somehow."
-----------------------------------------------------
Like I said Cal, those of us that cant play any more!..

And it means something like Eddie has more chance with the players around him to score than he had with us, I'd say that even Bamford would score more in his place, even though there's lots of ours that would disagree!..

Don't tell me we don't need this kind of quality on our books. We just need to be able to manage it effectively.
