TMQ been through the leans years myself,
The unbeaten season and the three trebles are something I never thought I'd see?
Nothing lasts for ever so lapping this up while I can
Piff
Amen to that mate.
Maybe a statto could look into it.
But I don't recall such an intense period of all out scoring.
Zico
That's 1.8 better than 3.2.
Fvkin amazeballs man.
Back in the early 70's teams folded v us in the dressing room.
Our game today is filled by feisty teams & players fighting for survival.
Relegation = selling hoose, weans changing schools etc.
I salute these lads who make up our current goal scoring machine.
My own fitba hero Jimmy the Mighty Quinn would them as well.
Kudos to Lennie for the change of shape, with the two up top we've been playing some great fitba, been enjoying watching it

Piff..I agree...to the extent that it works against the SPFL cannon fodder but in Europe it will get exploited by better teams and coaches,
It took our three centre back twenty minutes to work out where they were meant to stand today. A heated discussion between Jozo and Ajer a few minutes before the killie goal today. And you don't want to argue with either of them..,,specially Jozo.

Oooft! Smashin big boabies some of they lassies have.
Mags
I did omit that I've got doubts about some of our defending, no question and agree against better teams I'm not sure it's the best way as long as Lennie realises that as well?
Its still enjoyable watching against the others, goals and chances are what keeps me going tae games
<The reality for 99% of the profession>
Sadly yes.
But when we were last this dominant player aspirations were humbler.
Many of our first 9IAR lads stayed in council houses as did other team's.
Not long before that many players walked to the stadium among the fans
or travelled on public transport to the ground.
You weren'y gonna be evicted if your team was pash.
Aspirations are so much higher now.
So they dig in more.
<Many of our first 9IAR>
My bad
I hate presumption.
To be fair, TMQ, it is not just the players of the 60s whose aspirations were humbler.
Players are mirroring society as a whole.
Yup!
Still think there's a grittier approach from lower ranked teams than in
1970 let's say. The fellas of today have more to lose. Rangers is case in
point. Dropped points to 3 Bottom 6 teams so far this year.

Quinny..I agree with all of that. But as a balance...Dundee, Dunfermline, Hibs and Kilmarnock all had great results and runs in Europe in the early/mid sixties. They were good teams with top class managers that were hard to beat.
In 1967, you could have picked a composite team from the non-OF teams that would have given the Lions a run for their money. The quality isn't there nowadays.
Also goes without saying that rangers had a very good side throughout that period with outstanding players.
Again agree & can't take issue with 'owt there mate.
An amazing 7 weeks in terms of results if not 100% performances.
Looking forward to my first Monday free since the 6th Jan.
Will lie in till 9 at least.
Catch you later mate.
Aye, but long gone are the days of doing a shift down t'mine then phannying about wi' a football.
Whin a wir a lad, ah used t' get up at two in t'a mornin', wash t'pit ponies then head down t'mine for a fifteen hour shift.
Remember Tommy burns team. That was the best football we played.
I too am old and enough to remember the first 9 in a row or at least the last few of it
These are great days indeed to be a Celtic fan
The thing is the holy grail of 10 in a row as its perceived to be need not be the end of it .
The way things are at the moment ,and the fact that Rangers have thrown everything financially at this season and look to have failed miserably whilst spending outwith their means AGAIN! means that there is no reason why we cant continue to dominate for many years to come .10,11,12 ... who knows where it will end?
As TMQ says though you never know whats round the corner.
