Not really sure why you are amazed? Not sure if I have to list all the reasons but can give you some as to why this year is a free pass and is not really expecting anything.

We have throughout this year had injuries to kante(several) hudson odoi(several) loftus cheek (all year)pulisic(several) tomori, rudiger(half the season)christensen, emerson, pedro(half season)tammy abraham(our main striker)pulisic(arguably our best attacker).

We lost our best player in the transfer window and had a transfer ban.

This is our worst team of probably 2 decades, and we are currently in 4th and with a bit of a luck should probably have more poitns than we do, we are second in chances created and shots this year behind city.

Lastnight we were missing, 3 or 4 starters, and even with our first 11 we would have lost.

I can actually confirm this because I too counted.

All Spurs fans do is exaggerate things to astronomical heights for no reason at all like a bunch of teenage girls on their periods or something.

Bayern smashed you and Chelsea just beat you 2-0, you were bound to be talked about in fairness.

A lot of our younger players aren't fit at the moment or in the case of Kepa and Tomori are out of favour right now. And undoubtedly having a near 40 year old Caballero in goal will have pushed up the average age of the team significantly.

My Eagles mate texted me to say I must be fed up with all the Spurs references last night so it isn't just Spurs fans noticing. I'm not surprised we got a mention but 20 plus times suggests the pundits have got sod all in terms of original thought to discuss.
