Although I do agree about the Franks kids thing.
Talksport and BT keep saying they are a young team and will learn from it ignoring the fact the average age was 27 ffs
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A lot of our younger players aren't fit at the moment or in the case of Kepa and Tomori are out of favour right now. And undoubtedly having a near 40 year old Caballero in goal will have pushed up the average age of the team significantly.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yeah people are saying this as if they are our first team.
If it was up to us, willy, alonso, azpi wouldnt be playing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If it was up to us
Maybe not mk, but lastnight was still a fractured and injury ridden team, with players like alonso(started 7 pl games all year) giroud (started 3 games) azpi (who been playing at lb and has been phased out to make way for james). And then cabellero of course

Aren’t Azpi & Alonso first choice Nick ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
azpi is being phased out. And no alonso certainly isn't. I do like azpi but he's faded the last year.
Barkley, giroud, alonso, willy have 20 pl starts between them.

Everyone has injuries. Bayern had a left back playing centre back.
We have a number of injuries to important players, City do, Spurs do etc. Just get on with it

We pretty much have a young team again but seems to be going under the radar
Against you -
Ndombele, Winks, GLC, Sanchez all 23
Tanganga is 20
Bergwijn is 22
But Vertonghen, Lloris & Toby all 30 plus and pushes our average age up.
Exactly manc. We are getting on with it, hence my original comments. this year is a free pass and we're cracking on. top 4 would be a bonus.

yeah as always its about that balance.
Sadly our older players (kante aside) are not good enough, as leaders or individual players.
If Tammy and Kepa had started instead of Caballero and Giroud then the average age of the the team would have been 25. And that's in a team where Pulisic, Hudson-Odoi and Loftus-Cheek were unavailable to play and Tomori wasn't started either.

And believe it or not dele is only 23 which is crazy seems to been around for ages.
Yes our older played aren’t good enough anymore tbf
Azpilicueta
Pedro
Rüdiger
Jorginho
Kovacic
Alonso
Mount
William
They all featured last night.
These all sound like regular starters to me
out of those only azpi, jorgino, kova and willian have been regular starters this year.
oh and mount is 20.
Not really sure your point anyway.
Nick
Which players do you think would otherwise start then, ie regulars who weren’t available last night?
These IFA fackers can do one interrupting me whilst playing PS4.

tammy, pulisic, kante, hudson odoi and loftus cheek.
Tammy obviously not fit enough to start at this time.
And I would start kepa and emerson also but thats neither here nor there. But I would, with a fit squad, change 7 of our starting 11 lastnight.
Doesn't really matter. bayern would still have won no doubt.
Strange article. Need to grow some thick skin. Talk about being triggered LOL
Tammy and Kepa have started most games so far this season so it's fair to assume under normal circumstances they'd have likely started last night.
Also Pulisic would have started last night if fit, probably ahead of Barkley. That would have taken the average age of the team to 24.5.

Well he's been our first choice keeper for the vast majority of the season so far. So if you're working out the average age of our team this season you'd need to include Kepa, not 40 year old Caballero as it skews the stat completely.

We aren’t though we was talking about last night.
You can add in players that are out due to reasons such as injuries but you can’t if they are available but aren’t picked.
Willy has played the last 5 which Means he’s your number 1 gk atm
I didn't count the number of times Spurs were mentioned but I made the point on the football live thread that we weren't actually playing so there was no need for the commentator to keep talking about us.
When I'm watching a game that doesn't involve us I'm trying to escape from our dreadful season so I don't want them to keep reminding me of it.
