Who is currently ahead of Klopp in your opinion?

I’d say he is second comfortably. I’ll cite the Barca second leg last season, only dropping two points this season and the evolution of heavy pressing with managing games much better and seeing our wins when required. I’d also add the fact we’ve scored the most late winners out of everyone this season, and the never give up mentality he instils.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Some of those things have absolutely nothing to do with his tactical nous, which is what the article is about.

He’s an excellent squad builder, and he’s an excellent man manager and motivator. That’s where his outstanding talents lie.

Tactically, from what I’ve seen, I’d put him behind the likes of those I’ve listed in the OP, as well as several others, including Simeone, Allegri, Poch, probably Jesus, Bielsa and a few more.

It’s not a sleight, you understand. He’s undoubtedly one of the very best managers in the world at the moment - one of the top two or three. I just haven’t seen that very top level tactical genius from him yet. But he doesn’t seem to need it.

It’s still relatively early in his career, and I’ve only seen him at two clubs, to be fair to him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Really? I'd say getting to three European cup finals in a row shows that he is one of the best tactically. Most league games when you're one of the top teams you just set your team up in your standard way. When it comes to Europe, especially two legs and playing in other countries, that's when your tactics are massive. Klopp always seems to get it right.

I also find Rossi’s claim that Klopp has had the best fitness coaches etc completely disingenuous as if Pep/Allegri et al haven’t.

................

If Klopp has the best ones surely the others haven't?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well whether Klopp has or not is subjective. Pep has some of the best coaches etc available to him yeah?

Yet we’ve seen you comment on but never call out Pidier’s childish articles.

Funny that.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Ole taking points off Liverpool is hardly proof he has tactical nous, especially when he his teams have been out smarted and outplayed by teams that are a fraction of the cost, on a regular basis.

Ole strikes me as a nice guy but way way out of his depth. Long may this tactical genius stay at united I say...if united fans ever need support paying him to stay start a GoFundMe and I'm sure other fans will chip in 😅

You only have to look at last season as an example (I haven’t seen the equivalent figures for this season to date, but I’d guess you’d see the same).

Liverpool had one of the lowest number of days lost due to injury and illness in the PL (801, as compared with United’s 1,392) despite playing a much higher energy, higher intensity game with greater distances covered over 90 mins than nearly everyone else in the league.

Liverpool actually racked up a pretty high number of injuries (37 - third highest in the league), but still clocked a low number of days out, which says a lot for the players’ fitness, the quality of their conditioning, and the quality of the training, conditioning, physio and medical staff, which is different level.

Nobody else in the league plays with the same sustained intensity as Liverpool. Nobody can match them on athleticism. It has made a massive difference over the last two seasons.

Oh I have. But gave up after the 20th one. Do you actually open them on our board, as they are not on yours?

I don't think you need my help on any of them with your current situation, do you? Unless you need constant re assurance that Klopp is doing a great job at your club.

Tell me about it

It’s difficult to have a sensible conversation around here, isn’t it?

This season is different however. I'd say we have had as bad as most, injury wise.

Fan boy/girl culture has killed sport and the purity of sport debates.

Its actually pathetic and hence I enjoy watching cricket or rugby more.

Good lord Internet forums are still full of trolls, wind ups and childish nonsense, it’s like being in 2001....

I have to agree with Red Russian’s first post. The OP is about tactical ranking of managers, specifically regarding Pep Guardiola and the first Liverpool fan to comment is just to ridicule the United manager for no reason whatsoever and then the entire thread and conversation is ruined.

Are you all 11 years old?
--------------------------------------------------------------------
No

I'm 10 years old
