There's a lot of potential there - I'm least sure about Fred of the three.

I've wanted Pogba gone for a long time... I don't like his attitude and I think it directly leads to his up and down performances, and agree that we'd be better off moving him on and bringing in another midfielder.

A quality deep lying midfielder who can dictate play would be ideal for me, not sure who though. That and a RW are key for me but I’m not expecting too much from Ed in the summer.

Bruno was different class last night, seeing him in the ground as well and you can appreciate his intelligence and movement. The minute he went off, Brugge started getting a bit more confident too.

What’s this ‘attitude’ you talk of?

posted on 28/2/20

Can only assume Winston is talking about him sauntering around the pitch, sulking when things don’t go well putting in no effort to track back?

From all accounts he trains well, so don’t think it could be that.

It works, no doubt about it... I think some people still underrate McT, he could really be the genuine article (as, it seems, is Bruno). I think Fred is probably the one that could be upgraded, but he could also continue to get better too.

All I know is that I am quite happy and positive about the current situation, including Pogba probably leaving.

Mct just keeps getting better. He’s a really important part of the side now, Fred has improved a lot and Bruno looks class. Not a bad place to be..

What has struck me when they are on the pitch together is how much he and Mata are on the same wavelength. Mata knows if he knocks the ball back and runs in behind that Fernandes has got the intelligence and quality to dink one over the top to him. It was visible to see on Mata's face how much he was enjoying just playing with Fernandes. He was grinning like an idiot last night.

Which begs that question, how much have we wasted Mata by not having the right player/s around him? Also, does Fernandes' arrival mean that we should be rethinking the popular opinion that it is time for Mata to move on?

I get the feeling United have turned a corner.

What a shame

I would like to find out at Ibrox though

while i think Fernandes is going to be a great player, the fact he went off had nothing to do with it, Utd clearly took their foot of the gas

Not surprising, Mata is an intelligent player, so given another player with that sort of vision and awareness will get on like a house on fire. I think ole has to consider his options, and I’d give that midfield a few runs out to see what they can do, even if Pogba fully fit.

McTominay is destined to become a top player. He improves with every game, which is a reflection of his desire and work ethic.

The quality of his goal last night was exceptional. The technique was flawless.

I like Bruno. He and his wife shop in Tescos apparently.

Absolutely this.

You cannot watch Pogba and tell me he’s giving 100% all game, every game.

He does have brain farts in high risk situations. Cuts it out and he could be very good.

I think he’s limited, personally.

McTominay looks to have bags of potential and Bruno is new - maybe harsh on Fred but I think those two will be there longer than he will.

You could be right Winston, but Fred has had to play with some dross. With more quality in around him in midfield, I would hope that he will continue to improve. And I wouldn't bet against a man with his desire. Whatever the game, no matter how bad he is playing, he always shows for the ball and works his backside off.

Too early to say that yet. We’re still a few players short and we’ve got a horrible March: there will be at least one shocker of a performance, I’m sure.

Completely agree and hope he proves me wrong - certainly does no harm having a player that cares like he does around.

Very rarely. I can't particularly recall any, which suggests the issue isn't prevalent.

I think at United we have an expectation that players should play the perfect game every game. I've seen fans write off good performances by Maguire, Shaw, AWB and Lindelof because they've made a single misplaced pass or mistimed tackle.

At the very least, he’s reliable cover. He’s been consistently good for months now, including games at City and Liverpool.

On a side note... There must be part of Pogba that sees the likes of Bruno, Fred, McT and Matic performing and maybe starts to think we could actually go places?

I know most want him gonna now, but if he did a 180 and came back ready to put a shift in, we really would have something special going on. Him and Bruno would have a field day and the opposition would be lost, at times.

Those tough to win games against the lesser teams might look a bit easier with the likes of Bruno, Pogba and Mata pulling the strings.

If we can manage to get Pogba fit and play Mctominay, Pogba and Fernandes i think we'd see some seriously sexy football.

Also, Mata looked much better with Fernandes on the pitch last night.
