Morning everyone, would normally go to this but my body and the NHS have conspired to imprison me for the short term at least. In typical NHS fashion I have an indeterminate sentence. Life is truly crap at the moment.
I predict more tinkering with the line up and more defensive lapses 👎🏻
At the moment Cocu is having to decide which is the lesser of two evils on the right side of defence - Bogle or Davies. Neither instils great confidence. Evans is a better passer than Davies but surely we wouldn’t dare to play him against Wednesday. Forsyth probably back in for Lowe because of their aerial threat. Maybe Martin back in for Marriott who was so ineffective on Tuesday.
Hamer
Bogle Davies Clarke Forsyth
Shinnie Bird
Waghorn Rooney Lawrence
Martin
Get well soon Spart.
Clarke's attempt to control the ball against QPR made Keogh's attempt at Wembley against QPR look class. Anyone notice how Shinnie protected the defence for the second goal. No me neither.
Still should have won had Waghorn not missed the difficult chance in the first half and the easy one in the second. His profligacy in front of goal has probably cost as many points as his goals have won.
Still raining heavily in South Yorkshire. One wonders how much more rain the ground can take. Imagine what the BBG would look like after a winter like this one.
Maarnin' all.
Currently entertaining this Jorge guy, not a particularly welcome guest.
Could do with an away win to lift the current mood. Not just the world situation, but compounded further by a disappointing defeat for the u23s yesterday. Still a glimmer of light was an iffy run-out for one Ikechi Anya - remember him ?
Hope your curfew is over soon, Spart. Takes a lot to tether that tough old frame to the couch.

It was a surprise how poor Marriott was on Wednesday compared with his last season's game at Elland Road. There is a huge temptation to drop him but maybe a series of starts would bring back his talent. If I were manager I think I would chance him but be prepared to bring on Martin (or Whitaker) after an hour or earlier if he's not doing well. I do feel though, he needs a little encouragement and appreciation.
And, Spart get better soon lad, what seems to be the problem? Maybe Vidal could help.
My daughter has just recovered from the flu but now my mrs has it. She has to be really I'll not to get out of bed in the morning.
Meanwhile I've been ok (so far), despite being in Italy!
Oh, and clear skies an a mild breeze here in the west.
Don't think so Ramdini.
I was taken by ambulance to Stockport Hospital on Sunday morning. I was staying in Buxton at the time. I was had been in agony for 6 hours as couldn't pee, wasn't helped that I had been on the beer Saturday night.
They thought it was a bladder infection and blood had clotted in the urethra. Drained the bladder and fitted me up with a catheter and discharged me. Saw the docs on Monday to arrange a TWOC clinic but instead they arranged the wrong clinic, one for someone with long term incontinence and the next one was May. Have since been to Doncaster A & E, six hours wait because I was passing something similar to rose rather than chardonnay. 6 hours there and all they did was the identical tests as at Stockport. They thought it significant that they found glucose in my urine and I had to tell them of course there would be as there was blood in there! Still no date for the TWOC clinic. My house is full of the paraphernalia of catheter bags which appears to be a method of making the suppliers wealthy while putting tons of plastic to landfill. I am losing faith in the NHS. May have to spend some of my not so hard earned in the private sector.
Private health! Whatever next, you'll be voting Tory soon Spart.
There is no such thing as joined up thinking in the NHS it seems?
All downhill from here Spart.
Because of patient confidentiality there isn’t automatic access by health care providers from one Trust to patient records in another. This can result in problems where you have some treatment in one hospital and then subsequently a different one. Things tend to get repeated.
Spart, hopefully you have a named urologist whose care you are nominally under. Often the best thing to do when you are struggling to get the right appointments is to make a nuisance of yourself by phoning that person’s secretary on a daily basis stressing how many problems you are having. If you genuinely think you aren’t being treated well then there is the P.A.L.S to complain to who will take things up on your behalf.
That’ll be the usual 50 guineas, obviously.
Vidal, I'm sure the NHS was supposed rolling out a single point of access for medical records 10 years ago or more?
Did they employ the same software writers as Boeing?
Great advice Vidal... and a decent price!
Scouse, you would think so but no. It hasn't happened. It’s been a fiasco. I don’t really understand IT but I think there are two issues, one being how you protect patient confidentiality without allowing just anybody working in the NHS to snoop into someone’s records and the second of how you get different IT networks to communicate when there isn’t a single provider. Even locally there is no access for GPs to hospital records or vice versa. For Radiology there is no means of routinely being able to view CT or MRI scans done in a different Trust. They can be imported but only on a case by case basis by a laborious process provided for the NHS by a private company and which generally takes a few days. Usually it is actually slower and more expensive than it would have been in the old days to print off extra hard copy on X-Ray film and transfer by taxi.
It comes down to a failure to invest in the necessary IT infrastructure to roll it all out nationally. It’s farcical that in 2020 in my Trust we are still using old-fashioned paper patient notes which people scribble into and which of course get lost and can’t be in more than one place at once. We are inching towards a proper electronic patient record which would at least allow everyone in the Trust (but not outside) to look at what they need to. Part of the problem with that is in transcribing historical information about a patient from the old paper notes to the new electronic record: who decides what information is important and the cost of employing people to physically do it.
No one has told me the name of my named Urologist, thanks for the information. I will pester on Monday. Scientia est potential. Thanks again Vidal, and all the nasty things I have said about you in the past, I meant everyone.
Nasty things????? Did I miss something?
Well some folk (a lot) voted for the last - and this -government. So what did they expect? The problem is, we who didn't vote for them also suffer. Except for government ministers of course.
I have a suspicion that all the government ministers voted for this government.
Vidal, why not give everyone a memory stick and they could have their notes downloaded on to it. Then they can keep the information private and only used when necessary.
