"The referee was good though I didn’t see why he had to book Rooney and he maybe should have booked or even double booked some MU players."

What just for the sake of it?

" Nearing half time, there occurred what I saw a cynical tackle from behind on Lawrence"

You seriously watched that incident and thought it was intentional?

Wow.

I still can't see Cocu's logic in playing a midfielder and a wing back who have never played together in defence as central defenders against a top Premier league side. No surprise that two of the goals were scored in the centre of the penalty area.

Apart from that reasonable enjoyable game. We had 5 teenagers on the pitch at one time. They all played their part and Sibley gave the lanky Scots lad a torrid time. Can't see what people see in him. I am certain there are much better players at Man Utd's academy. He looks like the new Fellaini but without the skill.

Wondered what happened to Ighalo after he single handedly turned round Watford's season to get them promoted.

Your crowd estimate was a bit over top 3R. Only just over 31,000 there.

We made reasonable chances which on another day would have gone in but the better side won in the end. I would rather go out like that than Sheffield Wednesday's performance against City.

Thought Lawrence injured himself in the incident which led to his injury. It looked a bad one and I don't expect him to play for a while.

Yes, I thought it MIGHT have been cynical. I can imagine an MU management meeting preparing for the game - saying, Lawrence in one of their danger men. It wouldn't hurt if somebody clogged him. It was a tackle from behind and it did injure Lawrence - who knows how seriously. You can have your opinion. I have mine.

If you mean the challenge, seems to me that it's you who needs to get over it - not me.

I'm just challenging the idea that it was intentional to hurt the player, based on common sense and having reasonable eyesight.

Disappointing team selection and i disagree that Bird had a good game

I thought him and Knight were poor

Sibley on the other hand had a great game, after the Northampton game I thought he was poor but not last night

Evans not good enough, Forsyth ok a left back but not centre back and both need to go at the end of the season

Best team won but you'd expect that as Man Utd played a prem 11 and we played a league 1 11

If you look back I said I thought Lawrence was responsible for his injury. Over committed himself in order to get to the ball first so always a risk of injury. I don't have to get over anything but Lawrence needs to get over an injury.

I thought it was just an unfortunate collision which caused Lawrence's injury. I was absolutely astonished by the size of Luke Shaw's ar5e. It's vast. I can't recall when I last saw a player whose backside even comes close to it for gargantuousness. Surely he's got some sort of condition. It can't be normal.

Yes. I try to tailor my comments to the audience, Spart. I do hate to split hairs, but steatopygous is of course an adjective. The condition itself is steatopygia. I applaud your efforts though.

I thought everyone of our players played well. We caused them some trouble but when you go behind to a fluke goal against world class opponents who are on their game then it was always going to be a tough ask.
I thought we were in it up til then. But there’s a reason why they get paid the big bucks and unfortunately they didn’t have an off night.
I understand not playing Martin because we need him for Sunday and Evans looked far more comfortable on the ball that Davies so with Wisdom being that seemed a sensible solution there. I’d only question why Clarke didn’t play but Fozzie did ok.
Even our best possible 11 would have lost last night.

Rameses you are correct in your comments. PC, rightly in my opinion, used the game to develop his youngsters. And they all did very well. In that I include Roos who has not always been good lately. He is a youngster too and he was favoured over Hamer who is a Huddersfield player. And yes, the first goal was a fluke. If it hadn't hit Lingard's shoulder Roos might well have saved it. And if Sibley's early attempt - goalie beaten, 3 inches wide had gone in. Which it would have with the same level of luck??? Likewise Rooney's two efforts and Waggy's header - if any one had gone in it would have been different game.

So! we gained a lot especially the young lads and I am very proud of them. MU were the better side. But they were also the luckier side.

It seems some are very easily pleased with the performance of our players. Not sure how they would react if IMO they did play well and get near a very ordinary performance from Man Utd who consistently gave the ball away

Bird and Knight didnt play well! Just because they are promising youngsters who are our own I will not give them false praise

That team last night would struggle to make play offs in league 1 and whilst our youngsters are showing promise to be decent championship players they are not there yet, if only it were that simple

At least four experienced players required for next season, that includes a GK and the dutch CB, so two more as a minimum

It’s very hard to be objective with young players, we are so keen for them to do well. While we might exaggerate their current ability I also think we tend to under-estimate how much a player can develop over a period of time. I freely admit I have been woefully wrong in how far I have thought a player would go based on seeing them very early in their career. Some I have thought would be world-beaters have faded away and others I thought were mediocre have become full internationals.

I think Bird has made astonishing progress this season, I have huge hopes for him now. He isn’t yet the finished article but he improves next season as much as he has improved this then he will be some player. I’m a bit less sure about Knight at the moment, I don’t know exactly what his best position is. But he is definitely on an upward trajectory so we will have to wait and see. The same with all of the other young ones. They are all still improving and it will be exciting to watch them and see how far they can go. At the moment maybe they would get out-muscled by the lumps in Division One, I don’t know, but that shouldn’t be the yardstick. If I compare the half dozen of them who featured last night go where they were a year ago then the progress has been great. Hopefully that improvement and development will continue.

Yet again Cocu does not stick to a winning side, you cannot try and play International football with these players at his disposal, most of us know these players are not good enough.........
