I imagine the strategy is now to hope to delay the spread in an attempt to give medical resources a chance. This may help spread the time of the inevitable mass deaths/hospitalization

Uniformed opinion but they should be playing behind closed doors. I have a strong feeling one month from now we will be kicking ourselves at the stupidity of having sporting events with large audiences

It’s different in China as they are a totalitarian state who can literally at gunpoint force people off the streets. While in England we have people walking around coughing while saying it’s all media rubbish and the infection is spreading faster than people want to believe

We have 163 reported cases out of a population of well over 60 million. No one in China has been forcing people to do anything at gunpoint - stop being so facking dramatic

For most of us it will be a mild cold FFS

You are so naive. You really don’t understand what is coming - no one thinks everyone is gonna die. But watch the NHS tumble when tens of thousands of people at once need hospital attention and all of a sudden the doctors and nurses can’t work as they’ll be sick too.

It’s actually scary to see people like you brush it off as you’re the ones who enable this thing to spread

China has just managed to get it under control and that's after locking down many places. The other thing is the citizens in China (in 99.99% of the time) listen and obey their government. We should lock down for a while and let it pass. But since we aren't, it's going to get worse before it gets better.

The way in which the media can whip up an absolute worldwide frenzy is amazing

One big p is no one has had it before so we have no resistance unlike flu.

My friend is in China. Currently had to take a suitcase in to factory. If a single person tests positive they are locked in factory for two weeks.
