Just back from PP

Very solid performance by the men......and boys. Martin's hold up was immense, Waghorn was very impressive and Shinne, the next Bryson?

Some don't think he's any good....

Actually I thought Shinnie when he came on against Man U looked a lot better. He was trying to get forward and make forward passes rather than hanging round the centre circle and making sideways passes. Maybe a bit of Rooney coaching rubbing off.

Realistically, and taking my 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 goggles off, he had a slowish start. Was coming good, then injured. But, should and will be just the player we need.

Watch Marriott's reaction when we get the penno.

I really like Mariott. Cant work out why he hasnt established himself in the starting team. Rumours abound of course and he hasnt scored nearly enough, but he's a real live wire.

Maybe we just arent the right type of club for him?

Funny when the south stand started singing effing useless after Martin skied one near the end. It shows the relationship between him and the fans. Great bit of mickey taking and he took it as it was meant.
Great performance from him today. Shinnie was excellent. Wisdom calm and controlled. Clarke is going to take some replacing next season.
The kids held caused constant problems always looking to get forward but being disciplined enough to pass it back if necessary.
Great performance, total control I really enjoyed the game.
One criticism. Bird’s delivery from deadballs wasn’t good at all but he’s word generally was sound.
I didn’t get a good view of the red card. What was it for?

He nearly snapped Davies' leg with a very reckless lunge. He knew straight away as Curtis grabbed him by the throat. I think he was in tears when he went off - he knew.

Cheers View. I saw Davies was livid but didn’t know why.
I wonder if it was the kids debut or something because as you set he was in tears walking off and Mowbray put an arm round him.

We've scored more goal than those noisy lot up the road now as well.

Making chances and scoring doesn't seem so much of a problem as it was in the first half of the season. Letting in soft goals though is still a cause for concern. Hopefully the Dutch guy can be a colossus in defence.

Spart ... with Clarke being a loanee, Davies being an OAP and having said goodbye to Keogh, signing the Dutch CB on a pre contract was, for me, the first time in a long time that we have proactively planned for the following season so early.
I think I'm right in saying that all the other players are "ours" with the other loanees having gone home?
With the academy players making their mark, everything is looking promising for next season.
Less uncertainty, more structure.

So long as we score more goals than them when we meet in January I am not bothered. First we have to do the same down in SE London where we are due a win.

Errr - yep, I think so

I’ve never shied away from answering questions, but it’s never, ever been something I’ve promoted or bragged about to folk on here

I never called myself ‘Rev’ that just came with the various usernames I’ve had, but could easily been called ‘TRIH’ or ‘HeRe’ or anything else you chose

Just like me calling you ‘cotton wool’ I suppose

posted on 8/3/20

But mate, my username or what I do/did for a job is irrelevant to be honest, this is a football forum, and that’s what I’m on here for

The fact I had 2 strokes in 2017 and retired on medical grounds, shouldn’t really be an issue should it?

Rev ... no, it shouldn't be an issue and I hope you are recovering!
I didn't know clergy ever retired. I kind of thought you just ended up pottering around churchyards.
Maybe I've watched too many Agatha Christie or Midsummer Murders?

Some sensational stuff first half today from Bird, Shinnie and Sibley. I thought Bogle was back to his best today at both ends of the pitch and Clarke and Martin had extremely good games. Over the 90 minutes I had Shinnie as my man of the match, probably his best display for us.

It seems only five minutes ago that we were talking about the Holy Trinity of Bird, Knight and Sibley playing for the Academy and whether one day we would see all three together in the first team. Bird looks staggeringly assured. Knight has been moved around a fair bit and used in positions that aren’t ideal but I thought second half today he was terrific with and without the ball. And Sibley has taken to it like a duck to water. He’s stronger on the ball than I thought he would be, uses his body well and looks like the sky is the limit for him. Wowzers.
