It surely can't go on that long, if it's as bad as they say, then we'll all have had it by then.

Just getting well out of hand. This country needs people working, literally 95% of people who get this are either in recovery, or already recovered. It's a bit worse than a normal flu. Old and poorly people, just fooking stay inside and everyone else get on with it and stay away from them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Covid 19 has been in this country for nearly 3 months.
5 people have died.
Last December, 16 people died of winter flu over a 6 week period.

Youre either thick, dim or stupid.

Take your pick

Which part of that post are you struggling with exactly?

As I said earlier, this virus is supposedly set to peak in the next 10 to 14 days, so cancel the Euros, have a 4 week break, and finish the league and CL into the summer months.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The virus is not set to peak in 10 or 14 days it is set to peak next winter.

It is expected to peak in the UK, over the next 10 to 14 days.

There is not a chance this will peak in the next 10 to 14 days. Not with so many people not showing symptoms still going into work, shaking hands, public transport, travelling abroad.

FS people are still leaving the country to go to a country which has it to then return but expects it to go away.

Wake up fs

All games to be played behind closed doors with all games being offered to all stations that have shown at least one game this season to make up for people not being able to go.

*would be my suggestion

If it does happen, the best way to see the games: get a VPN, set your country outside of the uk and buy the game for £5 off the club website unless it's on sky.

The deputy cheif medical officer said this, so maybe you need to get in touch and offer your advice to her and her department.

Behind closed doors for the rest of the season would be an absolute travesty and must not be allowed to happen

posted on 11/3/20

I thought there was an overreaction but seeing what's happening in Italy and reading a bit about it, I can't see how season continues. Which I'm absolutely gutted about.

I work in a school and we had a meeting recently about our contingency plans for if schools close, which shows you it's a real possibility. I expect it within the next couple of weeks and if schools are closed, then so will work places and large gatherings.

2 options for me that are viable. 1. Pause the season and wait 2. Play remaining games behind closed doors.

Ending season now when things are so tight in certain leagues or voiding it (Liverpool have already won the league, we are 7 points clear of 3rd) when teams are so close to glory would be mad.

In China it was hitting the smokers harder, and if the theory that it will also hit obese people similarity as hard is correct then there’s no way it’s going to peak within two weeks. Us and the Yanks will be fecked if that turns out to be true.

Clubs should be given the rights then (if played behind closed doors) to broadcast their own games for a fee.

Sound.
Get in touch with the governement, and advise them of your findings, and your debunking of the current thinking of health professionals.

Lol

You could listen to three different health professionals speak about this one after the other and they would all contradict each other. I guess you just have to back your own horse.

They've already marked games here to be played behind closed doors, and by that I mean League games as well as European!..

I'm wondering how serious people will take it when the first Footballer/Sportsperson is diagnosed!..

People saying it has peaked in China, if China had opened up about it straight away instead of hiding as if nothing was wrong, than maybe it wouldn't be as bad Worldwide as it is!..

It seems to be becoming clearer that the UK govt's approach to cover-19 is to protect the economy rather than the population. Lock-downs are REALLY expensive in all sorts of ways, involve heavy and extremely unpopular coercive measures that the Johnson govt does not want on its record, and are ineffective in containing the spread of infection because people are people.

The economy has to come first, you see.

Last night, 60,000 watched Spurs lose to Dortmund in London. That's an awful lot of people on the move, no? But imagine the disruption to revenue streams if that game had been postponed. Now expand that perspective to the level of the national, or the regional, or the global.

Yes, it's already everywhere in Western Europe and will no doubt continue to develop. Keep calm and carry on?

Who knows how the Championship will play out. I agree it'll take time for the full impact of infection to register - six months? Will it all be over by Christmas? Nobody can be sure. It's killing me that we're now finally in the promotion zone but the entire campaign could be scuppered.

Good luck to everyone who contributes to this board - and to everyone everywhere, really. Just got to be sensible but keep going until you just can't anymore, I suppose.

Why were 60k in London watching repeats of Dortmund beating Spurs when Spurs were in Leipzig losing to RB

And, in case anyone's the remotest bit interested, I write from the perspective of one of those included in the "vulnerable demographic." There's no sign of it yet where I am but it's not far away. I am currently keeping calm and carrying on as normal. What else can you do?
